Jonathan Groff is returning to the small screen, but he will not be back on HBO in a new series. He is headed to Netflix as the star of Mindhunter. He is not the only actor returning to television either. A star from Fringe has also been cast in the series.
TV Line did not have any details about Groff’s role because details about the series are being kept under wraps, but the news outlet did share some news about the series.
“David Fincher’s forthcoming Netflix series is based on the 1996 nonfiction book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit. The book, written by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker, chronicled Douglas’ pursuit of some of the most notorious serial killers and rapists. Fincher will direct the premiere and serve as an EP with Charlize Theron.”
As for Torv, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that she will play a character named Wendy, who is a psychologist. The news outlet revealed that Groff is one of the special agents featured on the series.
A premiere date for the series has not yet been released. Fans of Groff will next see him on the finale for Looking. That will air on HBO later this year.
