These witches will continue working their magic for one final year. Freeform has renewed the Motherland: Fort Salem series for a third and final season.
A supernatural drama, the Motherland: Fort Salem TV show stars Taylor Hickson, Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Amalia Holm, Demetria McKinney and Lyne Renee. The series is set in an alternate version of present-day America. In this reality, witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the United States government to fight for their country. The story follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped with women on the front lines, the fight looming and terrorist threats that are strikingly familiar to our world, but with supernatural tactics and weapons. In the second season, Raelle (Hickson), Tally (Sutton), and Abigail (Williams) confront higher stakes, dangerous magic, and a new threat from an ancient group of witch-hunters — the Camarilla.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the second season of Motherland: Fort Salem averages a 0.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 183,000 viewers in the live+same day ratings (includes all DVR playback through 3:00 AM). Compared to season one, that’s down by 42% in the demo and down by 41% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel.

Great series with awesome story line…Very disappointing, great series and for it to finish the way it has leaving fans up in the air is disappointing.
Makes me think twice before getting interested in any series now…
As a UK viewer (BBC iPlayer) very disappointed to find out that S3 was the final. There was cross season storyline so to leave it hanging it very sad.
However, one has to accept that shows are made to make money, but niche audiences don’t provide enough of that to ensure continuity.

I really like Motherland. It’s so different from anything else out there. I love shows that show strong women characters & with the magic & witches thrown in, it’s one of my favorites. I am sad & disappointed to see it go, but are glad they are at least giving it one more season. I don’t know why all my favorites get cancelled. I guess I like a type of show that doesn’t resonate with others. Definitely glad it’s being renews for season 3, love this show!! Hate to see it end then, but who knows, maybe that will change! We can always hope…

Love this series! Would be great for it to continue with more seasons. The characters are just beginning to grow into their roles. It’ll be great to see Alder come back and regain her title for battle against their enemy! With so much media out there today, I’m sure if more people knew when and where season 2 was & started more people would have watched it. Its a great show.kill the crappy,mind numbing reality shows for lemmings and keep it going.
Funny how nobody heard of this show, yet it gets a third season…
My wife and I just found the show and binge watched it. We cannot wait for season 3!
I really like the show. Too bad it will end after only 3 seasons. Every show I like gets cancelled or cut short.
