The saga of NBC’s medical disaster series continues.
Trauma revolves around a group of brave first responder paramedics in San Francisco. The high-action series is populated by an ensemble cast that includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
Back in October, NBC indicated they weren’t ordering any additional episodes of Trauma beyond the initial 13 episode order, effectively cancelling the series. Then, in the wake of the failure of The Jay Leno Show, they ordered seven more episodes to fill primetime space.
When Trauma returned to the NBC schedule after a three month hiatus, the ratings were even worse than they were back in November. If the execs weren’t happy with the ratings before, they were very likely regretting their decision to order additional installments.
According to the Futon Critic, NBC has now cut their additional episode order from seven to five installments. That brings the season total to 18 episodes.
The last episode of the season, and almost certainly the series, will air on April 26th. No word yet if the producers adapted episode 18 so that it could serve as a series finale or if viewers will be left hanging.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Trauma’s episode order has been cut? Are you holding onto hope that it will be back for season two?

It was the best show on tv !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really liked Trauma and I don’t think the network gave the show a fair chance. I liked the cast and was just really getting to know the characters. Every time I find a show i really like they cancel it. Bring back Trauma
bring back my trauma….
twice this idea has been canned, not fair….
NBC… Bring back Trauma!! NBC did not give it a chance to get a following, I enjoyed the showed from the very start. It may have bee not perfect in the way things were done in the real medical world, but it is a TV show for entertainment and with all the show had to offer, it does entertain!! Forget the reality shows – Bring back TRAUMA!!!
PLS CONTINUE TRAUMA, IT’S REALLY A GREAT SHOW!!!
Please bring it back. It’s my favorite show and now its cancelled….what a shame. I loved how it..i actually don’t have any words to say other than that it is AMAZING and The Best show NBC has ever had. Please PLEASE HAVE A SEASON 2..and even more!!
Yes I am stilll hoping the they come back with season 2…..I really love this show and would really like for it to come back ….Please order more episondes NBC….I love this show.
with so many crappy shows out there that could be cancelled and no one would really miss, why do they always have to cancel the good ones. I’ve been into this show from the beginning – although here in Australia it has only just started showing, and in just as pathetic a time slot (11:30pm Mondays).
Order some more episodes NBC and put it in a decent time slot – it won’t change the idiocy of our Channel 7 but at least I’ll have something to buy when you put season two out on dvd.
Trauma was a good show with decent characters..I never understand why they don’t get rid of the stupid juvenile shows and keep the good ones..Like Trauma and Heroes were decent shows..Heroes had great story line and good characters to follow
I LOVED THIS SHOW!! I would fall asleep during it but I had it on record!!! I LOVED IT SO MUCH!! it kept me on the edge of my seat! BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!
Just heard that Trauma has been cancelled. I was just checking to see when the season finale would be on and seen this news. I am very upset!!!! This is a wonderful show. Very engaging!!! I agree with what someone else posted that the show was not given a chance. Bad time slot!!! Told the others in my office and they too are very upset. Worse shows have been extended. What is up with NBC cancelling good shows all the time? BRING BACK TRAUMA!!!
I wish they would have tried another time slot before cancelling the show. This was fun to watch and get involved with the characters and entertaining. Isn’t that what TV
I’m a 911 Paramedic and I really enjoyed the show!!! It may not have been realistic in all aspects but it was fun. Bring it back!!!!
I really liked this show – I’m disappointed that it has ended. I thought the characters were good, and I got involved with their lives. I think the show should have had more of a chance – maybe a different night/time
I don’t think NBC give Trauma a fair chance. Monday nite is a bad nite
you have Monday nite football, DTWS. Tough odds. It may have done better on another nite. It was the only thing I watched on NBC. I LOVED THAT SHOW PLEASE BRING IT BACK.
