Last season, many fans were concerned when CBS execs moved NCIS: Los Angeles to Monday nights. The ratings dropped by more than 34% but the network still renewed the series for a seventh season. How will it perform this time around? Will it be renewed for an eighth season or, is this the year that it’s cancelled? Stay tuned.
Based in the City of Angels, NCIS: Los Angeles follows the members of an elite division of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), one that specializes in undercover assignments. This drama stars LL Cool J, Chris O’Donnell, Linda Hunt, Daniela Ruah, Eric Christian Olsen, Barrett Foa, Renée Felice Smith, and Miguel Ferrer.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/25 update: CBS has renewed this series and 10 others for the 2016-17 season. Details here.
5/3 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The sixth season of NCIS: Los Angeles averaged a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.28 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the NCIS: Los Angeles TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for an eighth season?
NCIS LA is my husband’s favorite show on TV! – even though it’s on past the time he should go to bed. Please keep it going! – with not so many repeats. (We also watch the original NCIS and the New Orleans one usually.)
What I do not understand is why CBS would want to put this adventurous exciting and fun show to compete against Monday Night Football? For the demographics 18 – 49, more of those watch Monday Night Football. This past NFL season had many good games and that’s why I TiVo NCIS:LA. So I can watch another time during the week or even after the game. Putting a show that is popular with those who also watch NFL games on Monday night is a risky and not so wise move by CBS. I am all for NCIS:L.A. to be renewed! I… Read more »
I enjoy NCIS LA so much more than NCIS New Orleans. The cast of LA is interesting, and keep you with them in every way. Heddy, Sam, G, kinsey, deaks, all of them are great. I think that NCIS New Orleans does well because their right after NCIS. Also, I watch the show a second time on demand. Please renew NCIS LA.
I love NCIS:LA – don’t care for NCIS:NO
I do not know how “NCIS: Los Angeles” lost 5 million viewers and almost a full 18-49 demo point with its move to Mondays @ 10PM (from Tuesdays @ 9PM) for its 6th season. That is a great way to relegate a hit show, CBS. I hate that the timeslot change has triggered that big of a ratings decline for “NCIS: LA”; Something like this usually sparks fears of a show’s cancellation.
People that watched NCIS stuck around for NCIS: Los Angeles. Now people that watch NCIS stick around for NCIS: New Orleans.
NCIS la is by far the best and most brilliant tv show in the history of tv they have to renew it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that original series of NCIS it totally better with Mark Harman better than other. Really that NCIS LA going to get canceled ratings this season terrible.
I like NCIS LA way better than the New Orleans one they started last year (?) Hope it gets renewed again!
Like most NCIS junkies,I can’t help but think that the people at CBS shot NCIS:LA in the foot when they KNOWINGLY moved it to a late night slot on Monday night. It is if they want an excuse to cancel it so they set it up to pull low ratings. Truthfully?. I’d rather watch NCIS:LA rather than Supergirl ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!.
Never really cared for it. The original NCIS is still the best. I watch Supergirl and Scorpion and then go do something else.
I think it should be renewed, maybe given a different time slot.
NCIS:LA meet fork cause you are done after this season.
Stopped watching NCIS LA years back. Don’t like the characters, so really couldn’t care about them.
I hope NCIS LA renews for another season.
I’m sure the charts are correct that reflect almost eight million (8,000,000) viewers. WOW that’s a bunch, way more than many other [good] shows which are in NO danger of cancellation. Keep watching folks it’s the only signal we can send to these “Axe Happy Exects” that we love our shows … My opinion … Thanks …
Renew!!!! Don’t make the same mistake you did with lie to me and stalker. Two of the best tv shows.
I totally agree w/Gimmee. To me this beat NCIS for being more interesting and you don’t see Heddy insulting her people like the Mark Harmon character does.
NCIS la is one of the best shows that I’ve seen on the air I can’t imagine CBS even thinking of not renewing it it is a great show the plot keeps us astronomically on edge it is just one of the great shows and I found me look forward to watching every Monday night so I can’t even imagine CBS thinking of changing it or not renewing it may be crazy not to renew this fabulous show
