FOX could use some new drama series and the network’s programmers would no doubt love to find a new soapy drama to rival the success of Empire. Will Our Kind of People be a hit in the ratings? Will the show be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A drama series, the Our Kind of People TV show stars Yaya DaCosta, Morris Chestnut, Joe Morton, Nadine Ellis, Lance Gross, Rhyon Nicole Brown, Kyle Bary, and Alana Bright with Debbi Morgan, L. Scott Caldwell, Raven Goodwin, and Nicole Chanel Williams in recurring roles. The series takes place in the aspirational world of Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard, a historical stronghold where the rich and powerful Black elite have come to play for over 50 years. In the story, a strong-willed and single mother named Angela Vaughn (DaCosta) sets out to reclaim her family’s name and make an impact with her revolutionary haircare line that highlights the innate, natural beauty of Black women. However, she soon discovers a dark secret about her own mother’s past that turns her world upside-down and shakes up this community forever.

Me and my husband enjoys this show the young people probably don’t watch it cause they don’t watch TV at all. We love the show we can’t wait for the rest of the season. Please don’t take it off. Why are all these TV stations bringing shows people like then take them off.
I only learned about this drama two days ago. I binged watched it. Love, love, love it. Please renew this show. So tired of drug dealers and killings.
The problem with this show- is continuity, the storylines the editing and directing etc They have a good cast but so much actors could do with subpar writing. The ratings will continue to go downhill. If the showrunner and writers focus on good writing instead of clap backs. I really thought this show could have been a mixture of Greenleaf and Queen Sugar. It truly does not deserve a second season. Yaya Dacosta and the rest of the cast deserves better.
I hope that FOX doesn’t cancel this show. I love it and would like to see how the characters develop. They could farm it out to another channel, but I do believe it should stay on air
I’m so tired of Fox cancelling shows that I really like and keeping those Stupid game shows or what ever they are on.. Keep Our Kind Of People or I’m fixing to stop watching Fox 4 Period

I’m going to check it out because my manager was whooping and hollering while watching it in his office today. He said, “I finally found my show. It’s better than The Haves and Have Nots.”
