School’s out forever. The Quad TV show had been cancelled after its second season on BET. The news that there will be no third season comes six days after the April 3rd season two finale, “#TheColorPurple,” which will now serve as The Quad TV series finale.
A BET college drama, The Quad stars Anika Noni Rose, Jake Allyn, Sean Blakemore, Aeja Lee, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jazz Raycole, Zoe Renee, Peyton ‘Alex’ Smith, Michelle DeFraites, Kevin Savage, Tyshon Freeman, RonReaco Lee, Debbi Morgan, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jasmine Guy. The story unfolds at Georgia A&M University, one of the nation’s most prestigious HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). As college president, Dr. Eva Fletcher (Rose) has to balance her personal life with her career and the needs of the institution and her students.
The Quad: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of The Quad averaged a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 553,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% and 31%, respectively. For comparisons, check out the ratings of other scripted BET TV shows.
The cancellation comes after a string of executive shakeups at the Viacom-owned cabler. In December, Scott M. Mills was tapped to serve as the new president BET, with Debra Lee staying on as chairman and CEO. Prior to that, several top BET programming executives exited the company last March.

I graduated from a HBCU (AAMU) 50 years ago and my eldest child graduated from the same HBCU. We are very proud of our school. Sitting watching the Quad brings back a lot of memories. Please bring it back. With all the trash on tv you cancel a good show.

NO!!! Don’t cancel season three.This show encourages persons to always stand for what their believe in and for to cancel now is truly heart broken.
I think it should be a season 3 y’all can’t leave us hanging with them burning the building down taking back control and that’s it. It’s a good show and it shows no matter who you are what you do how you do it, at the end they will here US.

I can’t believe The Quad was cancelled! My son and I loved that show. I think it actually got him considering an HBCU even though he has some years to go before college, but it was nice for him to see a little of what it might be like. Seeing the administration at the school such as Dr. Fletcher was inspiring also. How can keep on the shows where we shown in the negative and take off the shows where we’re shown in a positive and real light?! I think the Quad was a really good show. Personally was encouraged by Dr. Eva Fletcher’s strength as a character. And she could dress. I wish they would bring it back and at least end the series properly. I feel it’s incomplete.
Well i find canceling the Quad is really messed up.. this has been a really inspiring series which is actually emphasising on the struggles of black collages.. the cast was also doing a wonderful job and i am looking forward for a third season.

I really enjoyed The Quad and looked forward to Season 3. I was very shocked when I found out it was cancelled. There were lots of great story lines that still needed to be told and it depicted young black kids doing something with their lives, standing up for what was right and fighting all kinds of injustice within their school community and outside. It showed black people trying to protect something that was handed down to them by their ancestors. It was REALLY GOOD!
Very good show, but of course when their is a voice that is speaking loud for black people there has to be someone or something that takes it away. People want to know so much about us, be like us, but yet don’t want to hear or experience the things that we actually experience. I believe the quad should come back for more than just season 3 but season 4, 5, 6 etc..
Excellent show. Really upset it’s over. The only reason I accessed BET.
