School’s out forever. The Quad TV show had been cancelled after its second season on BET. The news that there will be no third season comes six days after the April 3rd season two finale, “#TheColorPurple,” which will now serve as The Quad TV series finale.
A BET college drama, The Quad stars Anika Noni Rose, Jake Allyn, Sean Blakemore, Aeja Lee, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jazz Raycole, Zoe Renee, Peyton ‘Alex’ Smith, Michelle DeFraites, Kevin Savage, Tyshon Freeman, RonReaco Lee, Debbi Morgan, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Jasmine Guy. The story unfolds at Georgia A&M University, one of the nation’s most prestigious HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). As college president, Dr. Eva Fletcher (Rose) has to balance her personal life with her career and the needs of the institution and her students.
The Quad: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of The Quad averaged a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 553,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 28% and 31%, respectively. For comparisons, check out the ratings of other scripted BET TV shows.
The cancellation comes after a string of executive shakeups at the Viacom-owned cabler. In December, Scott M. Mills was tapped to serve as the new president BET, with Debra Lee staying on as chairman and CEO. Prior to that, several top BET programming executives exited the company last March.

Why is it every time we have a black show that’s positive it’s cancel and by a station that once was black owned that’s a joke. Why didn’t Oprah pick the show up.
BRING BACK THE QUAD!!!!! IT WAS A GREAT SHOW. THIS SHOW GAVE HOSE WHO THOUGHT COLLEGE WEREN’T FOR THEM HOPE.IT ALLOWED THE AUDIENCE TO SEE WHAT IS CURRENTLY GOING ON AT HBCU’S AND COLLEGE IN GENERAL. THIS SHOW WAS AWESOME.
Why is it that strong, dynamic and important shows like “The Quad” gets cancelled by a supposedly BLAC K network. It truly must be about the money, not the product and definately not the people.

I think the Quad shouldn’t been cancelled. It was a good show about Black college life which I looked forward to viewing every week. They could’ve at least given the viewers a decent ending.
No not The Quad….I still have my dvr programmed to record this. It was based on true facts of the real world so they had to put a stop to that and that’s sad. The truth is the truth. You have to accept the truth and deal with it for the world to get better. I love this show.

This was a great show. I looked forward to watching it weekly. Someone suggested trying to air it on a different day of the week opposed to cancelling a great Black sitcom. It absolutely was One of the Better Shows I have seen and wanted to watch in a long time. Sad!!!
I really enjoyed this show. It was real and relatable. It was more like a drama version of the show Whitley and Dwayne Wayne were in. Cant think of that name but it deals with what can and do happen on a college campus.
BET takes the wrong shows off. Maybe try a different day before cancelling a show.
I hate they cancel the show. I loved that show reminds me of my college days. I hate it wont be a 3rd season i was looking forward to what happen next. They end it with unanswer questions bc i wanted to know if the boy dad was going let his son choose the school he want. I wanted to know if Cedrick and his pregnant ex gf will get back together and have the baby. Smh
