What’s This TV Show About?
A FOX medical drama, The Resident stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Jane Leeves, Glenn Morshower, and Bruce Greenwood. The series centers on resident Dr. Devon Pravesh (Dayal), as well as Senior Resident Dr. Conrad Hawkins (Czuchry), and their colleagues at the Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. Although its motto is, “Committed to excellence,” the hospital is staffed with human beings, and humans are flawed. Now that Devon is on the other side of the institution’s velvet ropes, Conrad wants him to understand the reality of medicine and its delivery.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of The Resident on FOX averaged a 0.94 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.02 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 8% in the demo and up by 11% in viewership. Find out how The Resident stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.

Will FOX cancel or renew The Resident for season three? The ratings aren’t great but FOX has very few drama series on their schedule. I’m sure it will be renewed at this point. Love all the actors, the writing, and the little guy affecting change.. what’s not to love? Glad this will stay at the very least one more season.

This is most powerful medical drama that has been produced in years. The characters are well developed and believable. The good guys are likeable and the villains are as well for their behavior. Great casting. The Raptor is the man! Arrogant with zero bedside manner but I’d rather have a talented jerk than a friendly hack crack my chest anytime. This is a great show and I’d hate to see it cancelled. There are many options out there with streaming but this show manages to emerge from the crowded field.

The Resident is the best medical drama on TV. If Fox is concerned about its ratings perhaps it would do better in a different time slot. Our family will watch it wherever and whenever it’s on. It’s our favorite show. DO NOT EVER CANCEL IT!
