CBS RENEWS SUMMER THRILLER “SALVATION” FOR SEASON TWO
STUDIO CITY, Calif. – Oct. 18, 2017 – CBS today announced the second season renewal of the suspense thriller SALVATION for broadcast during summer 2018. Season two of the serialized drama received a 13-episode order.
SALVATION centers on Liam Cole, an MIT grad student, and Darius Tanz, a tech superstar, who bring Pentagon official Grace Barrows a staggering discovery – that an asteroid is just months away from colliding with Earth. Now with the added threat of nuclear war on the horizon, they work together with Secretary of Defense Harris Edwards to find a way to divert the asteroid, stop the war and save humanity before time runs out.
The series stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Rachel Drance and Ian Anthony Dale. Liz Kruger, Craig Shapiro, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Stuart Gillard and Peter Lenkov are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout.
The fate of CBS’ other summer drama, Zoo, is still up in the air.

I have watched salvation season 1 and I liked it. I love the constant twists and turns and counter plots. I am glad it was renewed. I would like to see it during the regular season

Great! Finally, something where they have good writers create a plot instead of useless so-called “reality” shows and stupid 30-minute sitcoms that are just not funny!

The writers and actors successfully keep this multi-threaded story engaging and moving forward. Instead of just being an instantly and easily forgettable political sci-fi piece of pulp, this show sparks conversation about both contemporary and universe/universal issues.
My husband and l are so happy that this exciting show will be renewed for another season. We are in our 70s and absolutely love this show! Thank you.
