Scandal is ending, but does that mean goodbye for good? Recently creator Shonda Rhimes spoke with E! about the possibility of a spin-off for the ABC TV show.
After seven seasons, Scandal debuts it series finale on ABC tonight, April 18th, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The political drama stars Kerry Washington, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, Tony Goldwyn, Joshua Malina, Bellamy Young, Scott Foley, Portia de Rossi, Cornelius Smith Jr., and Joe Morton.
In the interview, Rhimes revealed there are no plans for a Scandal spin-off:
Scandal is done. I felt we were coming to our end is because we’ve told the stories I wanted to tell. We’ve told the canon of Olivia Pope in the way that I wanted to tell it. So I don’t feel like we have stories that we didn’t get to tell that I wanted to tell.”
But what about the finale? Will it offer closure? Rhimes says:
I mean, yes, the story is wrapped up and yes, the audience gets to imagine some of what happens next for the characters.”

Scandal was excellent the first 4 seasons , after started going down hill, carrying unrealistic story lines. As a woman of color I was disappointed that Olivia , smart and attractive , but still could not get a man that wasnt taken.
maybe if it is moved out of the Whitehouse

Certainly and it’ll be difficult waiting for spin-off, we love this show, hated to see it go
As long as it didn’t involve Olivia Pope, then maybe….difficult to say given that the main character was the least likeable lead in a TV series that I can ever remember…not to mention, as the series progressed, it devolved into a teen angst drama with Olivia pope having the emotional maturity of a 15 year old. Most episodes of the final 3 seasons, I fast-forwarded through the majority of scenes to do with Pope
