Even though, during the last couple of seasons, the Scorpion TV show has dropped off significantly in the ratings, CBS has opted not to cancel it. The fourth season — which kicks off with a musical episode — will provide this action drama with a decent sized syndication package. Could it spell the end? Will Scorpion cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
Inspired by the life of a real computer expert, Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kay Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Robert Patrick, Riley B. Smith, Andy Buckley, Jamie McShane, Joshua Leonard, Dan Dratch, and Scott Porter.
On the CBS series, Walter O’Brien (Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits are the country’s last line of defense against lurking high-tech threats. As Team Scorpion, these members of Homeland Security’s think tank solve the nation’s crises, even as they help one other on their quest to fit in. At the start of season four, they find themselves working with their nemesis, Mark Collins (Leonard), to prevent the extinction of the human race. Meanwhile, Walter and Paige (McPhee) feel awkward as they try to navigate their new relationship.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The third season of Scorpion averaged a 1.20 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.23 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like Scorpion TV series? Should CBS cancel or renew it for a fifth season?
*5/12/18 update: CBS has cancelled the Scorpion TV show so there won’t be a fifth season. Details here.
Please do not cancel. I love all the banter among the characters. Yes, it is unrealistic but does everything have to be?
Everyone that’s a fan cut all your televisions on that channel during the program!!!!
please do so there is a season 5 i don’t know what to do with out Scorpion (Walter, Paige, Happy, Toby and all the others) From Elise from Denmark<3
Dear Elise , I totally agree with you ! Great show
In which you don’t t have to take things to seriously, Take Care. Jason from Australia
PS , Congratulations on your new tennis champion
Keeping my fingers crossed for season 5. The time slot move did hurt the ratings a lot and methinks the cast should do more promotions (they didn’t even do SDCC for 2017). 🙁
I think is a great program. The name did not give me the desire to watch. But i try one day and i felt in love with it.
I was looking for it tonight and is not showing . Too bad i had it on my agenda for Mondays
Actually next week I saw it on due carry Bennett special. Many more seasons to come need it boost ratings.
Need many more seasons really good.
This may be one of the most enjoyable yet underrated shows I’ve ever watched. Hoping for more seasons, truly enjoyable and intriguing to watch with an incredibly talented cast and fascinating plot lines!
I agree with you Frank. It’s one of CBS’s best drama series ever.
I’m re-watching Scorpion now from the beginning and I’m on season 2. It amazes me how much better the first 2 seasons of the show are compared to the current season 4. In the first 2 seasons they figured out problems not caused by them in the current season they create the problems. On top of that the fact that Walter and Paige don’t seem to have any chemistry since they got together really brothers me, I actually started to root for them to break-up just so that Paige would lay off Walter. I think Walter is regressing backwards and… Read more »

I have prepared myself to not be shocked when Scorpion is canceled, hopefully Katharine can find another show.
I am such a big fan of this show. Believe me, I watch a lot of television since my retirement and am absolutely shocked at some of the shows that are still on air. I will not name them, however, this helps keep my hopes of Scorpion surviving. This show offers so much when it comes to a variety of emotions. I think the 10:00 start may hurt this show.
Ratings are dropping faster than the Tidy Bowl man in a flushed toilet. Get rid of the personal life junk.
zzz. Boring.
If people are liking the show, how could the ratings be so low. I love the show and season 3 was the best one ever, especially since along with the sci-fi stuff it also took us into the lives of each of the characters and helped them break loose of character. I really wish this series continues…
“since along with the sci-fi stuff it also took us into the lives of each of the characters and helped them break loose of character. I really wish this series continues”
this why the ratings dropped. I watched for the tech NOT their sex lives
I like the show but I agree with you. Every show doesn’t need the “will they or won’t they” aspect. I honestly still don’t really buy Happy and Tobey as a couple.
Yes so good premiere keep returning shows good.
Very good show. It real keeps you on the edge of your seat. I hope CBS will keep it on for years
