Episode 07-01: Friday, 9/23/11
Year-to-year, Supernatural was down by a whopping 39% in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.8 rating and 2.01 million viewers. On the the positive side, the rest of The CW’s shows are down in the ratings so this one’s on par with Hart of Dixie, 90210, and America’s Next Top Model which air on better nights. On the downside, Supernatural’s been around for seven years and may be too expensive to continue with these numbers.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.24 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

LOVE SUPERNATURAL! Please renew for the 2012-13 season. There are still a lot of Winchester die hard fans out here that watch every episode of the show.
Don’t Cancel. I love this show. It is one of the few shows that I watch live during the week. I buy the DVDs of it too. It is one of my favorite shows that is still airing new episodes. We need more seasons.
this is such an amazing show. the actors are incredible and the writing is very good. my favorite show on television. hope it keeps going
THIS IS QUITE POSSIBLY ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS ON TELEVISION !!!
PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE GIVE IT AN 8TH SEASON. I THINK SAM AND DEAN, BOBBY, CASTEEL ARE GREAT. IN FACT, LOVE EVERY REGULAR CHARACTER !
CASTING IS FANTASTIC ON THIS SHOW !
I love supernatural but i don’t want it to see the same fate as X files did on having to many seasons. to much of a good thing can turn sour. And the show is in its prime.. Keep a show alive by powerful memories end it with a positive note so it’ll be remember as legendary.
What’s with the reruns? I love this show but reruns. Come on let’s get it going aging please. This show is good. It’s like crack I watched on TNT and then I learned cw had the
Show I had to watch. Now I see reruns. Stop it. Thank you
Season 8 is already guaranteed! Jared and Jensen signed a 2 year contract after season 6. The network president already announced(In Nov) that he was thrilled with the ratings on FRIDAY night and he sees the show being green lit for season 8. Granted anything could happen, but the extra money they get from the TNT airings of the show and the DVD/blu ray sales are also a money maker for warner/cw. Relax and enjoy seasons 7 and 8!
I Loveeeeee the tv-show and don’t want it to end ! Go Supernatural
!!!
Dean and Sam is a great team together ^^
i have been a massive fan since the very 1st episode of supernatural . i live in england and have to wait to see each season when sky shows them PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not cancel supernatural it is witty sad sometimes i no it wont be the same without BOBBY they could always bring him back as a ghost Every series has been gripping and exciting. i cant wait for the next episode , the ratings for supernatural on sky living are high just because the ratings are low over there im sure another station could show it .… Read more »
Supernatural is a very good show and they have done a very good job with the show. The show has come along way and it is great .
I think SUPERNATURAL is by far the best acted, and most dramatic SCI-FI show on television today. The Family relationship of Sam, Dean, Bobby and Castiel, and how Sam & Dean are trying to cope with the losses of their best friends, and meeting the monsters head on still has me pinned to my seat. I have never missed a show, since day one, and this is one show that deserves a season 8. The possibilities are still endless on SUPERNATURAL, and I believe that when Castiel returns, shortly, Bobby will be brought back, too, since I am sure that… Read more »
Only God would have the power to send the leviathans back to Purgatory. Since He’s supposed to be somewhere on Earth (remember Chuck the “prophet” vanished after the Apocalypse was derailed and the “Winchester Gospel” -the Supernatural books- were completed), I think Castiel will return to continue his search and his faith will be rewarded.
Just started watching and thought it and think it is different than anything else out there!
Do not cancel!
I love this show, too, but I have a hard time believing that it will continue, now that they have killed off Bobby! There is no one left to fill the patriarchal role! At least, if this is the last season, it will go out on a high note! Of course, I will definitely watch if there is another season!
i love supernatural i have to watch ever episode i have several friends too that love it. we will b very mad if the show is cancelled i look forword to watching it every friday its my favorite show on tv….
I think Bobby will come back as a ghost which means they’ll have to burn his bones. This time make Sam do it so Dean doesn’t get all the dirty work. Love Supernatural. I think, however, season 8 or 9 should probably wrap it up. I don’t want it to jump the shark.
