It seems the Brothers Winchester will be taking exit 15. Today, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins released a video confirming that the 15th season of Supernatural will also be its final outing. That’s right; it’s official. The Supernatural TV show on The CW will end with season 15. Fans who have been with it from the beginning may remember sweating out the “cancellation or renewal” question every spring in the show’s early years and marvel that we’ve come this far in a black 1967 Chevy Impala. Take a moment to take it all in, then watch the two-part announcement, below.
A CW paranormal horror drama, season 14 of Supernatural stars Jared Padaldecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester (and sometimes the latest incarnation of the archangel Michael). The cast also includes Misha Collins as Castiel and Alexander Calvert as Jack. This year, guest stars include Jim Beaver, Kim Rhodes, Ruth Connell, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Clark Blacko, Yadira Guevara-Prip, Samantha Smith, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Amanda Tapping, Danneel Ackles, and Felicia Day.
Supernatural to End with Season 15
As they talked about approaching the “grande finale,” the “boys,” which was once a more apt term, all agreed to save the emotion for Supernatural‘s 15th and final season on The CW. Ackles made sure to include a tribute to creator Eric Kripke, and the Supernatural family. It’s pretty clear from their video that this was a creative decision, rather than one of network caprice. It’s also nice that they’ll get a final season to end the show on its own terms. Supernatural received an early season 15 renewal on January 15, 2019.
Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins all tweeted out the video to fans, as well. #SPNFamily, indeed.
Supernatural: A Look at the Ratings
The 14th season of Supernatural is averaging a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.46 million viewers. Compared to season 13, that’s down by 23% and 13%, respectively. Even with that drop Supernatural is still the second highest rated scripted CW TV show. Here’s hoping that it goes out on a high point.
What do you think? Are you still watching the Supernatural TV show on The CW. Is season 15 the right time to end it, or would you watch through season 16 and beyond?
I would love to see the show continue on. I am 67 years old and I have watched it from the beginning. I am sorry to see it end. I wish the cast blessings and good luck with their future endeavors.
I will be truly sad if the show ends season 15. I watched the show from the beginning and would love to see season 16.
I started watching SPN in their 3rd season and since I enjoyed it so, I decided to start viewing the reruns from the beginning on TNT. Since then I have not missed a show. If I do miss a show, I have an On- Demand cable system (which airs an entire season) that allows me to see any missed show. Also, when not at work, I find myself looking at the reruns. Sometimes, it could be a bit outrageous but what I like most is the brotherly love and the anticipation of what is going to happen next. Believe it… Read more »
I’ve watched Supernatural since the first episode. I would have watched it until the end of time if they created them for that long. I’m about 34 now and this show has always been there to get me through life. “What would a Winchester’s do,” fight against the odds no matter how strong the enemy is…. I found the strength to leave my version of evil, and I’m happy to say that my kids and I are safe and happy. Thanks to the creative writers, cast, crew and creator for helping me see.
I have watched the show since day one. I hope they can have a great finale. A great ending could have been when Sam went into the pit and dean settled down. That would have been an ending that one could live with. Most show finales truly suck and never wrap up loose ends like Castle. I hope they can top that
I have been watching the show since the beginning in English and in french and it is sad that it is going to end next year. I would have watched it forever. But as many have said, maybe the actors want to do something else.
I’m not broken up about SPN ending next year. How could anyone think that Jensen and Jared would want to play Dean and Sam for the rest of their lives? I’ve watched the show from the beginning and I’ve seen the quality go steadily downhill over the years especially with the introduction of those tiresome angels and the endless stream of world ending big bads. Not only that, every time Dean gets a decent story it’s always cut short. Enough is enough. It’s time.
I don’t think supernatural should ever end but seriously I think there’s still a lot more they can do with the right writers rather than end it so soon! I’ve been watching from the beginning and I love the boys like family, Jensen especially but Jared and Misha are also close to my heart LOL ❤️
It’s going to be hard to say goodbye

Hi my name is Debra Ruiz I am 61 years old, I have watched the show from the beginning and have enjoyed it. I would love to see it go beyond 15 seasons. However the actors are tired and I guess would love to do other things. I love the show I love how throughout the 14 seasons has always been about family. No matter how angry the characters were with each other. I love the fact that Sam and Dean met God, I have laughed at the way God was treated after they became use to him. I like… Read more »
I will miss the boys. I watch it alone, with my granddaughters are 3 & 10. We love it. If it stays past season 15 I would still watch it. It’s a nice escape from reality. If it has to end the best to them all. Hope to see you in something just as good.
I have watched the show from the beginning and do not want it to end. I am 62 years young and am one of the shows biggest fans. There fan base is not just a certain age group but is everyone. Please keep it going. If the worst happens, use your spinoff and have the boys and castile make appearances or have supernatural 2 hours movies or something. Too many people love this show and it is still going strong. I have watched shows come and go but this is truly the show I cannot live without.
16 , GO FOR IT!
I would watch my boys forever and am sad to see them go. The only consolation I have is the reruns that I watch every single day!! Thanx for the years of pleasure and excitement you have given us all.
As long as my boys want to keep going I would watch. Have a major cougar crush on Dean, I’m 64. I think most women as myself love these guys, hot, heroic with a little bad thrown it. Love them & it. Was sorry to see Crowley go, he is a handsome man and Papa Winchester. I’ve never watch the Walking Dead. I could understand a much needed break, even fake Ruby has one. I liked Jared’s wife in the part much better than the blonde.
I hate to see the boys go, but I am grateful that they were given a final season, where they can go out with a bang. This final season should be one for the books.
