It seems the Brothers Winchester will be taking exit 15. Today, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins released a video confirming that the 15th season of Supernatural will also be its final outing. That’s right; it’s official. The Supernatural TV show on The CW will end with season 15. Fans who have been with it from the beginning may remember sweating out the “cancellation or renewal” question every spring in the show’s early years and marvel that we’ve come this far in a black 1967 Chevy Impala. A CW paranormal horror drama, season 14 of Supernatural stars Jared Padaldecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester (and sometimes the latest incarnation of the archangel Michael). The cast also includes Misha Collins as Castiel and Alexander Calvert as Jack. This year, guest stars include Jim Beaver, Kim Rhodes, Ruth Connell, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Clark Blacko, Yadira Guevara-Prip, Samantha Smith, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Amanda Tapping, Danneel Ackles, and Felicia Day.
Supernatural to End with Season 15
As they talked about approaching the “grande finale,” the “boys,” which was once a more apt term, all agreed to save the emotion for Supernatural‘s 15th and final season on The CW. Ackles made sure to include a tribute to creator Eric Kripke, and the Supernatural family. It’s pretty clear from their video that this was a creative decision, rather than one of network caprice. It’s also nice that they’ll get a final season to end the show on its own terms. Supernatural received an early season 15 renewal on January 15, 2019.
Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins all tweeted out the video to fans, as well. #SPNFamily, indeed.
Supernatural: A Look at the Ratings
The 14th season of Supernatural is averaging a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.46 million viewers. Compared to season 13, that’s down by 23% and 13%, respectively. Even with that drop Supernatural is still the second highest rated scripted CW TV show. Here’s hoping that it goes out on a high point.

Oh no!, I am in Australia and have watched every episode since season one!, ever since my wife and I first saw it advertised on TV and back then we both thought “what a great idea for a tv series”. We liked it so much that we purchased every boxed series DVD set (as a Christmas present for ourselves year after year since the beginning!). I can understand why the cast members would like to move on but hopefully there will be a spin off series (featuring Jodie and the girls), that would he nice, then at least Sam, Dean… Read more »

Well The CW has managed to cancel all their good shows that I have watched. Now this one. I know one person can’t do anything to keep the show on the air. I love this show. The actors sense of humor and realism in a not so real world keeps me watching and laughing. I knew The CW was going to do this. When are they going to stop taking our long time shows from us? Yes I would watch 15 and BEYOND!! You know it!! Sad at this announcement. Was just online checking for season premiere …so, oh well, I can dream on & “Carry On…” hopefully, maybe they’ll rethink & we’ll see some more of our “…Wayward” SONS!
Love the show and have rewatched many episodes over & over. I even have the same tattoo as them. I can see this maybe the right time to end but the idea they had for the lady hunters to go on would be amazing
No no no they CAN’T CANCEL the best show on TV!!!! Been watching since first episode and it NEVER gets old….and I love those handsome stars and the CLASSIC ROCK they incorporate as well. When does season 15 start?
I would watch this show 4ever if the boys would keep doing it.!!! I love it… I re-watch on Netflix everyday. My grandson of 4 watches with me he loves Sam and Dean!!

I absolutely love this show! I have watched it from the very beginning til now and then start all over(at least watched the entire season 10 times). I will miss it sooo much and wish they wouldn’t ever end it. The show and cast are amazing! My all time favorite show forever

I would continue watching this show until the end of time. There is no other show (this specific kind) that interests me. When a season ends, I go back and rewatch from season 1.
Too bad the CW made it difficult to find the episodes, in sequence, after they had played. What has become “mainstream” TV, HBO, Prime and Netflix, make it easy to find seasons and episodes of their TV series. Supernatural should continue, it’s made plenty of money for the CW.
If you get TNT the reruns come on every morning. 3 to 6 episodes every day!! Great!!!
