It seems the Brothers Winchester will be taking exit 15. Today, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins released a video confirming that the 15th season of Supernatural will also be its final outing. That’s right; it’s official. The Supernatural TV show on The CW will end with season 15. Fans who have been with it from the beginning may remember sweating out the “cancellation or renewal” question every spring in the show’s early years and marvel that we’ve come this far in a black 1967 Chevy Impala. Take a moment to take it all in, then watch the two-part announcement, below.
A CW paranormal horror drama, season 14 of Supernatural stars Jared Padaldecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester (and sometimes the latest incarnation of the archangel Michael). The cast also includes Misha Collins as Castiel and Alexander Calvert as Jack. This year, guest stars include Jim Beaver, Kim Rhodes, Ruth Connell, Briana Buckmaster, Kathryn Newton, Katherine Ramdeen, Clark Blacko, Yadira Guevara-Prip, Samantha Smith, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Amanda Tapping, Danneel Ackles, and Felicia Day.
Supernatural to End with Season 15
As they talked about approaching the “grande finale,” the “boys,” which was once a more apt term, all agreed to save the emotion for Supernatural‘s 15th and final season on The CW. Ackles made sure to include a tribute to creator Eric Kripke, and the Supernatural family. It’s pretty clear from their video that this was a creative decision, rather than one of network caprice. It’s also nice that they’ll get a final season to end the show on its own terms. Supernatural received an early season 15 renewal on January 15, 2019.
Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins all tweeted out the video to fans, as well. #SPNFamily, indeed.
Supernatural: A Look at the Ratings
The 14th season of Supernatural is averaging a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.46 million viewers. Compared to season 13, that’s down by 23% and 13%, respectively. Even with that drop Supernatural is still the second highest rated scripted CW TV show. Here’s hoping that it goes out on a high point.
What do you think? Are you still watching the Supernatural TV show on The CW. Is season 15 the right time to end it, or would you watch through season 16 and beyond?
WE THINK THE BOYS SHOULD KEEP RIGHT ON FIGHTEN! THEIR HUMOR AND CASTIAL HAD EVOLVED LOL! LOVE IT ! TELL EM TO KEEP FIGHTEN THEM DEMONS!
There will be a lot of unhappy fans out there, wishing this show would not come to an end, we want to see it continued. There has never been another TV show that even compares to Supernatural. If it is going to end, could you please maybe come out with a “Movie” about the show, I am sure all fans would surely love to see that.
I hate that the show is ending but if the boys are tired of all their time on the show I can understand. I love the show and will watch the reruns. It has been a wild ride. It seems when I like a show it gets cancelled but that is what it is. Good luck to all of you.
I’ve NEVER written about a show but I feel exceptionally STRONG about this show ending. The powers that be are WRONG. I’m a new fan, but in the last year, I’ve watched all 14 seasons and I can’t wait for season 15. I’m trying to find a way to watch it and I found out that it’s been cancelled. I’m very sad…
15 years ago I allowed my sons to watch this show with me, as long as they were not afraid and understand that this was fantasy. That show has been our mother-sons bounding time, so precious, so good memories. I completely understand that after 15 years those guys wants to have a break and do something else with their lives. Jared knew how to bring the fans together and make us feel like a family, that was something, I have a semi-colon tattoo because of this mouvement. I am going to miss this show, to miss the actors, but always… Read more »
I first got hooked on Supernatural with the season final of season 5, Swan Song. After that I had to go and find where to catch up on the previous season and I finally did and since then have watched the show faithfully every week. I’m sorry to hear that the show will be ending at the end of this season, but like they say, All good things must come to an end. I am expecting a real show stopper with the final episode and I really hope they give Chuck AKA God his Just Due. Make him pay for… Read more »
I don’t think it was a discussion of all there’s always only one person that wants to stop the show is the best thing on tv
I would watch Supernatural for the rest of my life. This is my favorite show & all I look forward to is watching it every Thursday. I’m devastated that this is the last season. I watch it over & over again everyday on T&T. I’m dreading the last episode hopefully they make a few movies like Sex in the City did. & they don’t hate each other so they could make as many as they want. Truly crying as I finish each episode I LOVE THE SHOW AND ALL THE ACTORS!! It’s like a death in the family & I… Read more »

I love this show! I have been watching since day 1. 14 seasons later I now have my 81 year old mother watching. I’m sure they can come up with more supernatural story lines.
I will miss this show, been watching from season1. This show was mother and son bonding time. We would watch together. It was hard to catch season 14 because they changed the air times more then once. Would love to see a spin off, wish hose three could be in the spin-off. None of them seem like they aged…I did…lol
love this show, been watching since the begining. don’t stop go for 16 and maybe more.
I will definitely be watching. I love this show. I have enjoyed every season since the start. All the cast will be missed.
I love this show. I wish it wasn’t ending, my teenaged kids always put down their cell phones to watch it with me. Thanks for the laughs and sometimes tears.
