Episode 01-01 & 02: Monday, 9/26/11
The two hour premiere attracted a 3.1 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 9.22 million. It was in third place for the timeslots and surely a disappointment for FOX considering the production expenses and promotion.
On the positive side, the two hours showed very good retention which means that most people who tuned in kept watching until the end. That’s a positive indicator for next week.
When you compare this with last season’s 8pm premiere of House, the network was down by 24% in the demo. On the positive side, Terra Nova improved over last year’s quickly-cancelled Lone Star premiere by 238%.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Terra Nova TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

pleASE DONT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! i lokk foward 2 mondays JUST for this show DONT CNACEL PLEASE listen to the fans
[…] fluctuated quite a bit week to week, hitting a low of a 2.1 in the demo three times. Terra Nova currently averages a 2.5 in the all-important demo and 7.6 million viewers. It’s the seventh most-watched […]
It should be renewed. It’s a well done show, one of the best ones on television. Practically every episode has me on the edge of my seat.
I haven’t cared about a show this much in a long time. FOX should NOT cancel Terra Nova!
To cancel Terra Nova would be the same mistake that the original Star Trek faced. Fans of Terra Nova unite. Bury the network with letters of protest if they consider cancelling it. they listened with Star Trek. Give it a chance. Once you start watching, you do not turn it off. ENOUGH REALITY! Enough Singing contests! Terra Nova ALL THE WAY!!!
Amazing show. DO NOT CANCEL. So tired of all the reality shows.
Dont cancel it!!!!!!
Its truely an amazing show
Please keep. So sick of sex, violence, reality shoes, game shows, and politics. Theres no storyline, no real acting, no entertainment. This show has these things. Think it just needs more advertising so more people know about it. I’ve talked to many people who never knew about it. After they watched it they were hooked. The actors are great, storyline is exciting, and I could watch another 100 shows with out becoming bored.
PLease Please Keep
Yes, please keep this show on! We need shows like this that are different than the usual Dr. and cop shows out there! It is fun to watch and keeps getting better and better!
Love it but I seem to love the ones that don’t last. Funny how all the sci~fi shows don’t normally work out but books do well??????
I love terra Nova. I wait week by week for my Monday night show. This show is absolutely thrilling. They better come back with season two.
DON”t cancel it
Watching this week’s episode made realize how much I’ve come to care about this show. The dinosaurs and lush jungle landscapes are great, but what really makes the show succeed are heartbreaking moments like those Skye had with her mother. If FOX decides Terra Nova’s too expensive, I hope they at least give it a limited pick-up of one more season to bring their story to a satisfying end.
My entire family loves Terra Nova! We look forward to watching it every Monday night and if away for the evening, make sure it is taped….It would be a big mistake for FOX to cancel the show. Please keep it coming!
Terra Nova has to be one of the best new shows in a long time. FOX would be making a HUGE mistake by cancelling this show just as they did by taking AMERICA’S MOST WANTED off their schedule. Leave well enough alone!
