Even though AMC made a name for itself with dramas like Mad Men and Breaking Bad, horror and fantasy programming, like The Walking Dead franchise and Into the Badlands, have been big Nielsen race winners for the cable network. Now they have introduced The Terror TV show. Based on the Dan Simmons novel of the same name, although this period drama is rooted in historical events, it has something of a supernatural twist. How will it go over with the TV audience? Will The Terror be cancelled or renewed for season two on AMC? Stay tuned. **Status update below.
An AMC anthology drama, based on the Dan Simmons novel of the same name, and inspired by a true story, The Terror stars Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies, Ciarán Hinds, Paul Ready, Adam Nagaitis, Nive Nielsen, Ian Hart, and Trystan Gravelle. The first season centers on the Royal Navy’s perilous quest to find the Northwest Passage. Despite heightened fears, fading hopes, and scarce supplies, they forge on until a supernatural threat endangers them all. Through the course of this ordeal, The Terror explores everything that can go wrong, when desperate men struggle with their environment and one another.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

What do you think? Do you like The Terror TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on AMC?
**6/22/2018 Status Update: The Terror has been renewed for season two on AMC. Details here.
Please renew the TERROR. Excellent season with compelling story lines linked with accurate historical facts. The acting is incredible and the supernatural twist is very interesting. My wife and I really enjoy the show and look forward to Monday nights. The filming, attention to detail, backdrop and harsh, unbearable climates keeps the audience completely engrossed. Please continue the series
Great show. Love the story, love the actors. Who cares what night it’s on? That’s what dvr’s are for. It’s to bad Nielson can’t determine who’s recording it and watching it later. I will be crushed if it’s canceled, although, at the rate it’s going, there won’t be anymore crew left.
I love this show, I read up on it as much as I can on Google, I can’t believe they all had to endure this, and make so many tough decisions, I can’t understand why all those men were facing so many hardships and they still went against each other.. I’d like to know will there be a 2nd season..Is there a museum on the ships artifacts, and have they been buried in the same cemetery, And how many men haven’t been found?!
This is one of the few occasions a TV show is just as good, if not better, than the book.
Love this show!!!!
Wait, people still watch the Walking Dead?
Congratulation for another perfect show!
Hopefully it continue to another season(s).
It ended so well that we don’t even need another season, but if there is one I’ll certainly watch it.
I really enjoy the show, sad it’s not being more viewers. Hopefully more word of mouth will kick it in high gear. Great set scenes, acting is solid, and has held my attention.
The Terror should have a second season!! Amazing show!! Story line of course incredible. Suspenseful , keeps u on the edge of your seat. The scenes are the most beautiful! Have a second season , this is a hit!!!!!!!
This show is amazing, I think the only reason the ratings are not so great is because the show plays on a Monday at 9 p.m. For me personally that’s not a great time which means other people may have a problem with that time. I still watch it for free on demand but if the time changed to an earlier time (even if its 8 p.m) or the date changed to a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, I would definitely watch it on the channel. It really is a interesting and great show. Hopefully it continue to another season(s).
Its leaked online.. the whole season
I love it. Read the book before the show, and would love to see season 2, but the book is standalone, so it would be hard to do a second.
This show is amazing! I absolutely love it! Please, please stay on air! I have to say though that Monday’s are a bad night. Why not a Friday night? Or Saturday night? It’s about time that an intelligent show with intelligent characters hit the box. I hope people realize that and tune in.
This is an EXCELLENT show, and I find it strange why there’s such a tremendous drop in viewership? Easter perhaps ?
The first episode was on Sunday, after the Walking Dead. They felt the need to move it to Mondays after that. The night of the week that a show is on, definitely makes a difference.
Makes you wonder why AMC doesn’t just air every show on Sundays, look at how others show dipped when they went to weekdays. Also, they should leave as many shows as a The Walking Dead lead-out as possible.
This show needs to stay as a The Walking Dead lead-out, it isn’t capable of standing on its own yet.
I only found this series by accident and boy am i glad i did.Brilliant from the start and never let up.Please give it a second series….!!!
