ABC hasn’t debuted a lot of new dramas during the 2018-19 television season. A Million Little Things did well enough to earn a second season renewal, but while Whiskey Cavalier is still pretty new, it hasn’t taken the Nielsen ratings by storm. Now the Alphabet Network has introduced The Fix TV show, from OJ Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark, along with Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain — the longtime writing duo who got their TV start on Joss Whedon’s Angel. Does it have the right mix to bring in viewers and score an invite to return? Will The Fix be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. **Status update below.
An ABC legal drama anthology, The Fix stars Robin Tunney, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Cohen, Adam Rayner, Merrin Dungey, Breckin Meyer, Marc Blucas, Mouzam Makkar, and Alex Saxon. The first season centers on former prosecutor, Maya Travis (Tunney) who, in 2010, was unable to convict movie star Sevvy Johnson (Akinnuoye-Agbaje) in the double-homicide of his wife and her friend. After the trial, Maya fled LA, but now that Sevvy’s girlfriend has been killed, she’s lured back into action, for another shot at justice.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/21 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Fix TV series on ABC? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
**5/10/2019 Status Update: The Fix has been cancelled; there will be no season two. Details here.
I’m sorry to see this show end I’m disappointed in the networks who don’t give the shows a chance
I set the DVR for the season and watched with interest. I liked the show – but my big disappointment was the final segment. A murderer who didn’t pay a price is not very exciting.
Bummer!!!! Marsha Clark’s writing was excellent. This show had so much potential. You can’t change the ratings, but sure would be nice to see it go forward. Thanks Marsha and all the great actors. I enjoyed the ride.
I agree to show is really good the actors are really interesting good plot couldn’t figure out who did it . they should have a second season and a/3 rd. this is what ABC does with new shows ,another cancellation they always cancel really good shows.why bother putting them on at all if they’re just going to cancel them anyway. but that’s ABC’s MO.that’s what ABC does they are the worst for new shows and cancellations of those shows. Why do they think that the rating should be only between the 18 year olds and the forty nine year olds… Read more »
this is what ABC does with the good new shows one season to get you really hooked on it and they ax it all the shows worth watching get cut and all the trash just keeps on going that is why I don’t watch abc very often I do agree with Dee the Nielsen ratings are a joke!!!
