An ABC police drama series, The Rookie TV show stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Titus Makin Jr., Melissa O’Neil, and Eric Winter. The series follows the experiences of John Nolan (Fillion), a middle-aged divorced man from Pennsylvania. He owns a construction company but decides to give up his old life to pursue a new career as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. He graduates from the Police Academy and becomes the oldest rookie on the force. He works with Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), training officers Angela Lopez (Diaz) and Tim Bradford (Winter), and fellow rookies Jackson West (Makin Jr.) and Lucy Chen (O’Neil). As season three begins, John nears the end of his training and must come to terms with the choices he made in pursuit of the truth.

Guess they are trying to appeal to a certain audience
And make cops look bad
I love this show! Please don’t cancel it!
Agree with Ray and F. Harrison.
F. Harrison I agree with you. I enjoy watching many police type tv shows and all of them are pounding race, prejudice police, etc. I watch tv for enjoyment no trying to brain wash me with racial injustice. Many of my friends are becoming more racial in their thinking due to the constant race portions of many shows. The last episode I watched showed a training officer in a very bad light, I agree, but it was overdone and there were I think three different race issues in one episode, TOO MUCH. I to may stop watching such shows if… Read more »
First off, I really enjoy the show and the characters. Season 3 has started off ok with the biggest distraction being the Near constant drumbeat of social justice. There may be a place for it in the show I just wish they would be a little more subtle. Everyone knows this show is not reality, not even close. People watch it to escape and be told a story. When my wife, a Fairly liberal black female, says the woke message is too much and she is contemplating not watching anymore, then perhaps it is time to reconsider. The Rookie portrays… Read more »
Please please renew the Rookie for season 4!! This is one of my very favorite shows. Nathan Needs to be seen on TV. He is so good looking and can be so funny yet also so caring and sincere. He is a great actor and a wonderful person. Love anything he is in!! Linda
I think the show is still a very good show. If they didn’t do a few shows addressing all the crap that’s been going on, they’d be called out for that! And please stop using that stupid word “woke”, U all sound like a bunch of copycats following an unknowledgeable goon! I did love the way John handled his nutcase mother! At first I was disappointed that, if his mom was a redhead, they didn’t bring in Susan Sullivan, Castle’s mom. Now I’m glad they didn’t – his mom is a disgusting, crooked B! Probably the reason Nolan is such… Read more »
We loved the first two seasons and we love Nathan Fillion, BUT this season has been so obnoxious. If you can look at your spouse and say “ten bucks the “caring” doctor is going to be black and a woman” and he doesn’t even take the bet you know the writing is stale and predictable. It feels like watching an afterschool special rather than a primetime drama. Maybe if the rest of the season tones down the heavy handed “wokeness” we will continue to watch.
I really enjoyed the first 2 seasons of this show, and the first episode of season 3 was a solid close to the cliffhanger it was left on. Episodes 2 and 3 however are already desperately trying to be woke. The new TO is so bland and one dimensional to the point of being comical. I understand that they feel they have to address these issues but this wasn’t the way to do it. Hopefully they find a more intelligent way of dealing with these issues or I doubt I will keep watching.
Really enjoyed the first 2 seasons, but not enjoying this so far. Not funny or entertaining anymore. I know they are cops and deal with very serious situations, but come on – the storylines are too one sided so far. I just hope the “woke thing” calms down a little, or I won’t be watching anymore.
Love the show but now trying to be too ‘woke’. Hopefully they turn it around and add the wit and the fun from the first two seasons while still having the dramatic storyline. They can easily hit on the tough issues without shoving them in your face.
Really enjoy this show. Please do not cancel it
Love this show.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I miss Afton Williamson as Nathan’s training officer, but Harper is great too. Just keep those seasons coming!!!!
I enjoy watching this show, but because I said it, you will cancel it, happens every time. There are TOO. Many singing shows , and stupid shows . Leave this one alone!!!! It’s good, keeps me wanting to watch the next week !
