NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

So sad the show has been canceled. Loved it from day one. The storylines and characters draw you in…Wish they would reconsider this.
I loved this show sooooooooooooo much, even more than This Is Us, If NBC wont bring it back I hope someone else picks it up, we have to know what happens to everyone. This was a show I couldn’t wait to watch every week. Heartbroken and amazed that it wasn’t picked up for more seasons. PLEASE RENEW!!!!!!!!!!
I did not get totally hooked on This Is Us because they jump around in the storyline so much. But, this one, I watched from day one and every episode. Great show. Bad decision, again, NBC.
I agree with the other post by Eileen. How can you not even give it a second season!? So much mindless stuff is right!! This one caught my eye and I did get invested in characters. Terrific acting, too. Please make the smart move and bring this back. Give it a chance!!
Wish they would give it more time to catch on. It is an amazing show. 🙁

So very disappointed the show is cancelled! I was hooked from the first episode and really looking forward to a second season to find out more about each character. The show was a pleasant change from some of the mindless garbage that is aired these days! Please reconsider!
I just don’t understand why they would cancel The Village it was awesome show .. it seems like you take all the good shows on as a older couple I’m not into game shows dance or singing shows .. please bring the Village back for another season
Please don’t abandon this series yet, just when I’ve finally convinced all 4 of my sisters to watch! Give it one more season to catch on.
Well I just got on to see when the next season was going to start and i am extremely disappointed to see it’s cancelled! This was a great show, that had a real story line that i feel people can relate to!! Please please reconsider your decision!!
What is happening? A new show covering a wide variety of situations premiered and I was hooked. Another great show that I know is being watched by a lot of people is canceled. Please rethink your decision. It might be a good idea to relook at the reviews to understand how much this show will be missed.
