NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

A show that was actually good. why not give it 1 more year to gain momentum. Really unfortunate.

I’m so angry that The Village was cancelled!!!! I couldn’t wait for season 2 to come on. Why is it that every time I love a TV series, it’s cancelled? I really don’t understand it! All my friends and I really loved watching this show. Y’all leave the ones that are no good and take all the good ones off. I’m very angry and upset about this!
Typical. What do these execs know about quality television? The Village was a great family show. Watched with my kids every week. Sorry to see it go. Next thing you know they’ll cancel The Enemy Within. …Oh, Damn it!!
I hope Netflix or Hulu picks up this show or storyline. I streamed this every week, and am broken hearted it is ended. Reminded me of This is Us but with more families and stories involved. I do not think I can take not knowing what the story writer had in store for Season 2.
So disappointed to see that this show is cancelled! I Loved this show…the acting and the story line is amazing! I truly hope another network will pick up this show! Beginning to realize I need to move into the Netflix craz….signed up today after seeing this show is cancelled!!!!!
Just watched the entire season On Demand. I would definitely watch more. I was already watching too many other dramas to watch it live.
Bring the show back…it was great! It was such a nice switch from all the violent shows.
My husband & myself loved this show & are heartbroken to learn that it will not be renewed for a second season. It’s hard to find good solid television these days & this was a well written script acted out by some new and amazing talent along with a storyline to hold your interest. So sad that we won’t be watching it again & we are left hanging
I can’t believe that they canceled this show. There are so many other shows that are horrible , I am very upset this was a great show.

I loved this show and everything about the people and their close relationships. Why is it that heart warming shows are always cancelled. Some one should pick this show up and continue the story.

I am so upset, really, really love this show. Great story line, love the characters (actors) please bring it back!! Take into consideration with streaming video people, including me, do not watch these series as they are playing. I love to binge t.v. shows and this show is totally binge worthy!! I hope Netflix or Hulu picks it up, NBC made a HUGE mistake cancelling , this is “This is Us” worthy, give it a chance!!! The actors are totally connectable, you gave up on this show WAY to early!
