NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I can’t believe the Village is cancelled. Such a heart warming show. Was so looking forward to the fall premier. Gonna have to head over to hallmark, or nick at night with the old goodies
I am so sad to hear this show has been cancelled! Excellent story lines, phenomenal actors, I was glued to every episode and shed tears for many of them. I don’t understand how amazing shows like this get cancelled and a surplus of reality shows stay. Ridiculous and mind numbing. I hope they reconsider. I’d also be okay if Netflix or Hulu picked up the series and continued it. Such a shame to let this fantastic show get tossed aside.

I really loved this show. Down to earth story line. Please reconsider. There’s way too many reality shows on TV including silly teen love shows.it seems like anything with a good storyline that’s not reality or police shows with violence are canceled.
I loved the show, the Village. I am extremely sad it’s not coming back. It was so nice not to see a police show or reality show. I guess I’ll go back to watching hallmark.
Awesome show. This is one of the feel good shows that shows hope. The network should rethink this one.

This quickly became one of my favorite shows and I looked forward to watching it each week – I couldn’t wait for the next episode! I am shocked to see that it was cancelled – I was glued to the TV when the show came on, and it had great actors and actresses. What an amazing storyline that provided such a mixture of emotions and really spoke to the audience. Please reconsider bringing back the show, it is worthwhile watching and I place it up there as one of my top picks.

We started viewing after the season. Wish we could have been counted! I agree with all the comments about the love and hope demonstrated in this series is a refreshing evening as compared to the evil and hatred seen on other shows. Please reconsider!
I may have already left a post regarding my and my husband’s displeasure at The Village being cancelled!! We don’t understand why a series that is about love and hope can’t be brought back for a second season! There are so many programs out there that are all about murder, violence and other crazy schemes!! There is too much of that in real life and we actually like to escape to a show that is true friendship, love and forgiveness!! Please reconsider and bring The Village back!! I can promise my husband and I aren’t watching all that other garbage!!
This was truly a beautiful show that made your heart and mind think about the “What’s going to happen next?!?” To cancel such a REAL show with REAL situations and emotions is a real tragedy!
This is really saddening. I look at the list of other shows that have been renewed and ask myself how it’s possible that they were renewed over The Village! Wow; just WOW!
THIS IS HORRIBLE NEWS!! WITH ALL OF THE HATRED THAT IS IN THE WORLD TODAY, THE VILLAGE GAVE US A LITTLE HOPE THAT LOVE STILL FLOURISHED IN SOMEPLACES. PLEASE RETHINK THIS DECISION AND BRING IT BACK. THIS MAKES ME REALLY SAD!!!
Absolutely Devastated!!! I looked forward week after week which I can’t say anymore for This Is Us. Please reconsider and give The Village a chance.
A beautiful show! Touches and lifts my heart. You feel such hope for the world when you watch every episode. A wonderful departure from so many other trite shows. The cast is magnificent and bring so much substance to every show. A shame that 4.5 million viewers aren’t enough to keep a top caliber show on the air.
