Have the Browns made a mistake in the first season of the Assisted Living TV show on BET? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustrated when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the first season episodes of Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living here. *Status Update Below.
A BET family sitcom, Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living features the return of main characters from Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, which ran on TBS for five seasons. The new show stars David Mann, Tamela Mann, J. Anthony Brown, Na’im Lynn, Courtney Nichole, Tayler Buck, and Alex Henderson. In the story, Jeremy (Lynn) loses his job so he and his young family (Nichole, Buck, and Henderson) move to the backwoods of Georgia to help his eccentric grandfather. Jeremy’s Grandpa Vinny (Brown) has foolishly purchased a terribly run-down home for the elderly and he is in way over his head. Vinny’s prayers are answered (sort of) when Mr. Leroy S. Brown (David Mann) and his daughter, Cora (Tamela Mann) show up as needy investors.
What do you think? Which season one episodes of the Assisted Living TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Do you think that Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living should be cancelled or renewed for a second season on BET? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
*5/4/21 update: Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living has been renewed through season three.
I like the show. I cried when I was watching the part about Lindor. I pray they do the right thing and let him live there to help with the place. He seems to need it and honestly more shows should tack this and other real life problems. As a mom and being on both sides of the situation I understand. Hopefully more people will see this problem of teens, adults, and children go hungry and are forced to live in horrible situations. With them having a assisted living place they can take him in and have him work there… Read more »
Meet the browns has to be the worst show that i have ever seen aside from all the bad acting the overly dramatic chubby main character is absolutely awful. He is not funny and is really making Tyler Perry’s reputation look bad. I have tried on a few occasions to watch this show but just could not because the “Mr Brown” character is extremely cringe and is the definition of coonery his character is a insult to the african american race. Please cancel this show and replace it with reruns of House Of Payne asap!!!
I can’t believe all the swearing on this show! The show isn’t even funny. It’s only funny when David Mann is on it because he doesn’t try hard. J Anthony Brown is doing too much in this show. The show makes no sense. They need to cancel this show ASAP.
EVERYONE AGREES…..This show sucks!!!!! We hold TP in the highest regards, but this may well be the very worst that I personally have seen from him. Just sat through (a half hour wasted) episode 16. What black family would allow ANY of their children to disrespect them like that? Along with all the other glaring weaknesses of this show, THAT really rubs me the wrong way considering how our young children are so easily influenced. We love Mr. Brown, which is the ONLY highlight of the show, but it’s not enough for me to continue watching……I tried, but I’ve suffered… Read more »
I don’t care anti Political if funny i love it anything that good family sitcom and House of Payne so good hopefully get renewed another season worth it.
This is Tyler Perry’s worst show ever. It’s a shame this show has been in the same room ever since it came on. The writing is terrible, the acting is terrible, the scenery is terrible and basically the show is a flop. New writers are needed and I find it hard to believe that the actors from the Browns agreed to do the show. This show stinks.
This show was Trrble Trble Trble and House of Payne drags.. The dialog btwn actors are not like the previous shows. TP cant b writing soley… It dragssssssss
Tyler Perry, try writing something positive. We need something positive in this day and time.
I couldn’t get through the first episode. It was terrible. It came off as another theater play rather than a TV show. It looked like it was cheaply made with a very low budget. Tyler Perry should be so much farther along than this with his work.
Oh my goodness. I hate this show. I know hate is a strong word but omg this show is awful. I was excited about this show but I am so disappointed in Tyler Perry. He really needs to hire some writers, producers, etc. J Brown doing all that cussing and for what. It’s not even funny. The actors including the young ones are terrible actors also. I tried watching but could not finish. They take to long to get to the point and when they finally get to it it’s a big let down. This show is so boring I… Read more »
Too much cursing in front of teens. Where is Pamela Man?
Who??
I am half way through the first episode and I can’t finish it. This show is so bad. I thought that J Anthony would bring some life, but the writing is so bad and the actor’s are horrible. The profanity does not make it funny. Please get some writers and maybe the actors you have will be better.
Just my opinion but I thought the show was awful. He has his own audience, guess I’m not part of it. The dialogue is weak, it takes them half an hour to finish a sentence. You could tell he let Jay Anthony Brown ad lib by the reaction on the teenagers faces. Also, the laugh tracks are outdated and distracting.
Mr. Perry, please take lessons or hire better writers.
I think the show should be cancelled. There was too much profanity and not interesting at all. I really loved Meet the Browns very good show.
Was not happy with the language. Think it could have been better without it. Felt like they were trying to hard to get laughs.
I agree with you Heather It was hard to watch/cringe worthy but I committed to one episode and wanted to like it so much because I like Tyler’s other shows and movies. I still enjoy watching “Meets the Brown show” to this day. Yet with this show, I believed the hard language was unnecessary . The scenes/ actors didn’t flow for me; lots of hesitancy on actors part as if waiting for the other actor to act/speak. I can see the jokes coming from a mile away and the delivery was stiff. Maybe having the Mann on board may save… Read more »
