Once Upon a Time will wrap its sixth season later tonight, and it could have been the end of the series completely. However, the series was just renewed for a seventh season. The series will go on without its star. Jennifer Morrison revealed after the last episode that she would not return for a new season as a regular cast member. She will likely only appear in one episode.
The men behind the ABC series, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, spoke about the possibility that the season six finale could be end of the series in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter released before the series’ renewal. They were both ready for the series to end.
Horowitz said the following:
“The way we sort of look at it is, these are stories for these characters, and there are set endpoints to different stories, but, that doesn’t mean there aren’t new stories for different characters. I think that by the end of the season finale, a lot of what we’ve been doing for the last six years is wrapped up — we hope in a very satisfying way — and then we move forward in a way that at the end of it, hopefully you’ll see what we’re hoping to do in season seven.”
Edward Kitsis chimed in with the following:
“We understand that this could be the last year. So we aren’t trying to hope for the best. We feel like we’ve completed this story, and the next chapter of Once Upon a Time will be completely different.”
Will you watch season seven of Once Upon a Time? Tell us what you think.
I’m going to give it a chance
Absolutely will watch! Can’t wait! Emma, Snow & Charming’s stories have been over told and I’m so happy the show is finally moving on from them!
Yes
Yes I will be back to watch the next season!!
Please don’t take my show away!! It’s one of the few things I have to look forward to. Losing Jennifer won’t make me stop watching. She’s important, but so are other characters. I’ve been watching since day one, I love this show!!
I am so happy it is coming back and I’ll miss zelena sooo much. I pray they bring her back.
Doubt I will watch S7- Only reason I stayed to watch the last 2 seasons was I’d already invested 4years of my life hoping to see Emma get her Happy ever After. This “reboot” will likely just go the same way as the last 3 seasons of the show IMO & end up recycling the same old tired storylines & plot points, but call them ‘new’ due to a simple gender swap (child now is female instead of male & her father (instead of mother) lacks faith/doesn’t believe- right down to not knowing/acknowledging she/he has a kid when they met… Read more »
I was completely prepared to be done….DONE. I said my goodbyes and even shed my tears when I listened to the Disney song of “Beauty and the Beast” as Gold and Belle (the couple I was TRULY rooting for) did their little slow-dance. I thought there was NOTHING you could do to draw me back in…and then we find out that the child that was in Neverland with TigerLily was actually Henry’s daughter. Hmmm. I dont see how Hook will be there without his Bride. I am confused as to how Gold will change without all the goodiegoods to play… Read more »
I will no longer watch…. I was ready for the show to end. I fell in love with these characters for the last 6 years. I looked forward to watching them every Sunday. These actors are who made Once Upon a Time. Where is the loyalty?
Loyalty? You’re the one that just said you won’t watch anymore lol! Don’t allow a few actor’s (probably just not getting their own way) ruint he entire show…Be loayal! 😉
I have been A very faithful watcher for 6 years and loved every season and can not wait for season 7 And thank you to all the cast& Disney
I will definitely watch season 7 I love how they ended season 6 it’s been an awesome show for 6 years can’t wait til September
Amazing, Awesome. Best gift ever HOPE
I love the show it has had confusing storylines but the cast is great and it’s sadd to see some of the cast leave but I agree Emma story has come to an end. Jennifer will be missed. I will watch season 7 and see where the new cast and story takes us but I do think that this show has run it’s time and soon the series should come to a complete end. But I like to think the producers writers and all the people in the studio for bringing this great show to the small screen and giveing… Read more »
I am sorry to see a number of characters leave, but I am looking forward to next season. This is one of the top shows on television and I have purchased a DVD of every season and will continue collecting all of the future episodes.
