What’s This TV Show About?
A western family drama on the Hallmark cable channel, When Calls the Heart stars Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing, Lori Loughlin, Jack Wagner, Martin Cummins, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith. Inspired by the Janette Oke novel, the Hallmark TV series centers on Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a young teacher from a high society background. When she is assigned to teach in a coal country classroom, her life completely changes, particularly when she meets Royal North West Mounted Police Constable Jack Thornton (Lissing).
Season Five Ratings

Will Hallmark cancel or renew When Calls the Heart for season six? Since this show’s ratings rose significantly in seasons three and four, flying a bit blind I think it will get a sixth season, as long as the parties can agree on money. Please bring mountie Jack back. I have been watching When Calls The Heart from the beginning and it wont be the same without Jack, now that Elizabeth is having his baby. I will watch it no matter what, but wishing Jack makes a comeback

It seems a mean thing to do to aquire a fan base built on this one relationship only to dash it. So Lissing is in a relationship with a rich LA real estate salesperson. It’s not that he misses Australia in any way. Off to better things or cash in on his character build up in this series. Really, is this an actor ego thing.
I too would like to see Jack recast. Daniel Lissing will definitely be missed. Like someone else, I also thought a facial injury that the good doctor — Paul Greene — could operate on and bandage would give us a few episodes to get used to the new Jack’s voice. Jack and Elizabeth are the heart of “When Calls the Heart”. (I think all the other people on the show are great too.) The beautiful love story between Jack and Elizabeth should continue. I’m very happy that When Calls the Heart was renewed, I just hope Mountie Jack’s death was a mistake. I hoped Jack was just going to come riding in on his horse. The last 2 episodes where heart breakers!
Please renew for season six. There are so few quality family shows these days and we love the characters.
It got renewed for season six while it was airing season 5 so it will be back.
I have loved when calls the heart but now just won’t be the same don’t know if I will watch it anymore
4 generations of my family (mom, me, my daughter, and her daughter) watched this series, ever episode since the first day. Losing Jack after waiting so long for them to get married is a very hard pill to swallow. The writers had better be deep in the laboratory making up for this atrocity!!
I love when calls the heart. Its so good to see mankind help and love one another. Please bring Jack back such a beautiful love story. Dont end it with tragedy. I would love to see a happy ending for such a great show.
They didn’t get rid of Jack. The actor playing him didn’t want to continue and unfortunately you can’t force him to. I agree it is bad for the show. Usually Hallmark is the one making bad decisions about cast members. Especially on their daily “Home and Family” show. They screwed it up firsthand by firing Christina and again by firing Mark. I’m glad I quit watching when they let Christina go. They ruined it with Debbie. She is fake. Ratings reflect this. Mark defended women on the show and for being a good person he’s fired. Sad you feel that way. Jack will be very missed but there are many more stories to tell. Its one of the few family shows on these days . Its already been renewed.
Hallmark didn’t do this. The actor playing Jack quit.
