What’s This TV Show About?
A Canadian drama which first ran on CBC in Canada and streamed on Hulu in the US, Pure stars Ryan Robbins, Alex Paxton-Beesley, Peter Outerbridge, A.J. Buckley, Gord Rand, Dylan Taylor, Rosie Perez, Jessica Clement, Dylan Everett, Aaron Hale, Lanette Ware, Cory Bowles, Felix Bieger, Patrick Garrow, Gary Levert, Joanne Miller, and Wendy Lyon. The WGN America series centers on Mennonite pastor, Noah Funk (Robbins). Noah must find a way to protect his family, remain true to his faith, carry on with his ministry, and run his dairy farm, all the while rooting a drug trafficking ring out of their cloistered community.
Season One Ratings
The first season of Pure on WGN America averaged a 0.04 rating in the 18-49 year-old demographic and 254,000 viewers. Compare its performance to that of other WGN America TV shows.
WGN America and Super Channel have renewed Pure for a second season which will debut May 28, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.

Telly’s Take
While CBC and Hulu weren’t willing to renew Pure for season two, they’ve partnered with Super Channel and WGN America to produce a second season, which is slated to debut on the latter networks, later this year. In the meantime, WGNA is rerunning the first season to draw in new viewers. Although we already know we’re getting Pure, season two, I’ll keep an eye on this show’s Nielsen ratings and update this page with breaking developments. I loved season 1 of Pure! Totally binged watched it over a week end and have been patiently waiting for season 2. I understand season 2 recently aired (I know because other family members watch the show as well). Although, I have Hulu and Season 1 is still in my recording, I have it set to record new shows and NOTHING…. Went to WGN and not a option…..
Extremely entertaining and informative. Excellent choice of cast. Looking forward to second season and will inform all of the show. Great job
AJ Buckley is currently starring on Seal Team. I watched 1st episode of Pure on WGNA. Looks to be a good show. However, not sure it will be around much longer since AJ is on Seal Team. ( he is great on that show. Is there anyone who knows if s2 is last season? Is it worth the watch, or is it a bummer to get hooked and then gets canceled. Aka Deadwood.
Hulu would be cutting off their nose to spite their face should they not renew this…… it would be like not renewing the ” handmaid’s tale”…. get it together Hulu……it’s no wonder why I keep cancelling you……. if it were not for Harlots and The Handmades Tale…..well you would be PERMENTALLY DELETED from every one of my devices. ?

Season 2, please!
I really liked this drama. However, there should not be a season 2. Not because it wasn’t good, but because the story is complete. Yes, I’m sure writers will come up with a way to continue, but they will be stretching. Let it end bittersweet.
I was excited to run into this on Hulu! It was a show that popped up under my “you may also like” list. I actually couldn’t stop watching it and was bummed when I finished the last episode. I of course got on to the web to see if and when series would be coming back. I truly hope it does. The characters drew you in and plot was ingeniously written. It was shocking but belivable. I really enjoyed this series and would love to see more. I hope there is a season 2
Pure was a very intense season 1, would like to see a season 2. Hopefully Hulu picks it up for a second season. Only to understand why it was cancelled by the CBC. It leaves a bad taste in the Mennonites community makes them look bad. But there is alot of truth behind the series as well.
