Last season, The 100 dropped a bit in the ratings but other The CW shows saw much bigger losses. Will the show’s numbers continue to fall or will they rise? Cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned.
The 100 follows a group of young people who are sent back to Earth nearly 100 years after a nuclear Armageddon destroyed civilization. The cast includes Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Christopher Larkin, Devon Bostick, Isaiah Washington, Henry Ian Cusick, Lindsey Morgan, Ricky Whittle, and Richard Harmon.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/11 update: The CW has renewed this TV show and 10 others for the 2016-17 season.
5/20 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
For comparisons: The second season of The 100 averaged a 0.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.54 million total viewers.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The 100 TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Season 3 was great! They should not cancel it.The show is what lots of people love and they should keep pushing it no matter what because I’m pretty sure everyone wants to find out what happened after season 3.
They are almost done filming season 4. It will premiere on February 1st 2017. Definitely something to look forward to! 🙂
It’s not showing until February? That kinda sucks, that’s later than last year isn’t it? Unless that is the UK date? I hope this is because they have put more thought and effort into this season to make it good though because last season felt a bit rushed. It is more likely though to give the new netflix viewers time to catch up perhaps.
It’s the US date, and yes, it’s 10 days later than last year, but I think it’s no big deal. S4 will have 13 episodes instead of 16 last year, so a later premiere date is understandable.
Oh, I see. Less episodes though, that isn’t really positive is it? I know it still has more episodes than lots of huge tv shows do but still, is there a particular reason for it? I can’t wait for it now though, so looking forward to its return, the break feels like ages!
I agree, it’s not the best sign, but I think the most probable reason is “too many shows”. 15 or so shows have to fit in 10 time slots throughout the year. All The CW midseason shows (besides Reign if I remember correctly) got lesser episodes this year. But with No Tomorrow most likely to be cancelled, Frequency also on the edge, CeG though an award show with very low ratings this year, and TVD ending after this season the chances for S5 aren’t THAT bad. Hope dies last, which I think will be also one of the main themes… Read more »
Yes that makes total sense now that you put it like that!! I really am looking forward to it, it could very well be more successful than TVD’s history on the CW yet, I still have faith in it. 😉 😀
Admittedly some parts of season 3 like with Lexa and the crazy AI stuff went a bit sour. But regardless it is still an amazing show and so many people are looking forward to it continuing, there really is not much else good on right now. I hope it can return to its former glory and become bigger and better than what it was. Ps, nobody counts the netflix ratings but it’s on netflix now and more people I know watch that rather than cable or online so I really hope the producers take that into account too because they… Read more »
Haha the haters are such losers! They are actually coming on here just to downvote comments to make this show look less popular than it is, I’ve been observing this for a while now, they are so FUNNY! Go watch your mediocre trash and get real lives please, thanks.
Too bad this show sucks compared to the rest of them
Wasn’t there a rumour that they already have a season 5 and 6 planned out too? Oh boy let it happen, this show deserves lots and lots of seasons!!
No. JR just said during SDCC that season 4 isn’t/wasn’t planned and written as a final season, that they have some ideas for season 5, and that he has a good feeling about to get a season 5. Nothing more, but nothing less either.
Oh I see. Season 5 is still good news though, it’s probably more than what most shows would have planned in advance. I would also love to see a grounder spin off some day too, especially one that delves into Lexa’s past. It is probably impossible but Lexa was my fave and I still have so many questions left unanswered it’s unreal. But yes, keep em coming!
Unfortunately they haven’t planned on season 5 yet, there are just some ideas. It all depends on the ratings season 4 will get next year.
I know, I really hope it gets renewed again though. I mean the fact they put so much into the show and Alloy Entertainment hired Kass Morgan and now somebody else to write a book series on it, you would think they would fight tooth and nail to keep it going more than your average show. I hope so anyway. And I know it’s going back to being only 13 episodes which probably isn’t a great sign. I can still hope though.
love the show I hope they continue with a fourth season.
They’re filming right now. Season 4 will air in early 2017, most likely end of January or early February.
I’m so sick of the haters and bitter ‘the Loo’ people, like have they got nothing better to do with their lives than to troll the internet purposefully to bully and intimidate others who are fans innocently think the 100 is good tv? Obviously they don’t. Look, I don’t get into backround politics of the show, I never did and I never intend to. I don’t approve of what I’ve been hearing about some of the goings on of course but that doesn’t mean the show itself is crappy or that the entire cast deserves to be kicked out of… Read more »
Those haters are the saddest of individuals, ignore them and let them be trolls in their little internet crevices. Their ‘movement’ turned sour when they became bullies and now I am gonna keep watching the show. They will get a rude awakening when season 4 kicks off and the hiatus ends. 😉
I ******* love this show. Binge watched it in 3 days and today I finished it. It is epic, freakingly epic. Holy ****. Anyway, greatly happy about season 4.
I did not watch the show while I was eating I’m just now watching it on Hulu and find that the show is absolutely amazing and really hope that some of the network picks it up and continues
I loved the show and cant weight to see the 4th seanson
Keep the series The 100 …great love it…
Allready renewed for a fourth season. A fifth isn’t confirmed (a bit early for that 😉 ), but they have some plans for it. They said, season four is in no way written and planned as a final season. So, fingers crossed. 😉
Ty i loved it too caint weight for the 4 season
People who see these ratings and come to the conclusion that Lexa is the only thing making people watch the show live may need to analyse the ratings again. There was a bigger drop in both viewership and ratings in the first half of the season (when Lexa was alive) compared to the second half of the season. The ratings started on 0.67 and by the mid-season finale had already fallen to 0.5. That’s a ratings drop of 0.17, or if you were to round it up it would be a ratings drop of 0.2 – which for most shows… Read more »
The show started hitting series lows in the second half starting with the episode after Lexa died. They had THREE series lows in the episodes after Lexa’s death. It’s undeniable that her death had an effect on the ratings.
And it’s not “just about ships” and no one is arguing that so I have no idea what you’re on about there. The fact is they killed off an interesting, well liked character that had amazing potential (and was played very well).
The whole season was an epic mess of inconsistencies and deaths for shock.= value.
Except that I never said Lexa’s death didn’t impact the ratings. It did. Only a fool would deny that. I said, Lexa is not the only reason people watch the show. Considering, as seen in the table above, viewership and ratings were dropping prior to her death. Half a million had already dropped off by the time 3×07 came around. You guys are all just willingly ignoring that fact because you all seem to love narrative that she “carried the show” when the show got it’s best ratings in s1. People also seem to think the season only got sloppy… Read more »
That is true but you could argue that nowadays A LOT of shows are killing of characters and introducing more gore for shock value, it’s not just the 100. I for one miss Lexa so so much and found it a waste that they put so much effort into the creation of her character, she was better developed than most of them on the show, she was so good she could have had her own spin off or franchise. Yet they should have made it a main role from the beginning imo rather than guest star. How could they have… Read more »
Well said! 🙂 And I really hope they learned their lesson. S3 wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. The Grounders will definitely be a big part in S4. We will meet at least 2 new clans (Glowing Forest and Shallow Valley), and there will be several new Grounder characters, most likely from said new clans. Since Zach McGowan (Roan) was promoted to series regular we might see some more interactions with the Ice Nation. Also Luna/Boat People seem(s) to play a bigger role. It is also said that we’ll go back to “young Adventure Squad”, which probably… Read more »
Thank you.:-) I am going into this with mixed feelings to be honest, excitement and nervous as to where the story could possibly go from here, especially after seeing some of their best scenes and characters go. Also, Luna unfortunately never really grabbed my attention at all last season (possibly though she was given a bad introduction) and my biggest fear is that they will try to force her into the role of the ‘new Lexa’ which I do not think will go down well. I am hopeful though as I still enjoy it and as fans, I think we… Read more »
This show requires a lobotomy before watching
There’s a lot of hate here, but I for one like the show from season 1 (accept maybe first 2-3 eps) right through! I love clexa and I myself am bi (so just to clarify I’m not anti gay) but I think it’s ridculous how much effort people are putting into destroying this show over one relationship, yes it was epic but who knows what other epic moments the show may have too offer?
I absolutely agree and what an intelligent, respectful, take on things. These haters can go crawl back into their hole because there are many who still want to continue with it and they have every right to do so. The fact that they are ‘trying’ to gang up on the fans is both sad and laughable and says a heck of a lot about them.
I’m 100% supporting the Titanic metaphor here. Let me explain:
Season 1 was sailing, all was good (talking rating-wise).
Season 2 it reached its peak, people were happy.
Season 3 halfway through it hit the iceberg and slowly started sinking.
What can we expect from Season 4. Rock-bottom dead-rating show. Hello 0.3/.2 my ol’friends.
“season 2 reached its peak, people were happy”
Except that the show get its best ratings in s1. The peak in ratings happened in s1, not s2. And s3 was dropping fast in both ratings and viewership before Lexa’s death. Just look at the table above.
The ratings might drop a little but the 100 is still doing very well for a CW show. TVD is getting even less ratings for a while now and that had 22 episodes in each season and is still going strong. Shows like the Fosters have hit the 0.3 and 0.2 marks more often than not and yet that is on netflix and is being renewed for season 4 or 5 now as far as I know. If you don’t want it don’t watch it. The 100 had a fantastic story and I agree it made mistakes and the second… Read more »
Lexa comes back for the series finale and the show jumps back up to a 0.5 lmao it’s clear as daylight right now.
It’s actually .47
This show is awesome! I love it! The story line is epic and suspenseful.
