TV show description:
A live-action comedy from creator Terri Minsky, the Andi Mack TV show is a coming-of-age story centered on Andi Mack (Lee). The night before her 13th birthday, Andi finds out that Bex (Bowden) is not her big sister, but is actually her mother.
As if this stage of life weren’t already replete with upheaval, Andi feels adrift and sets out to figure out who she really is. Thankfully, her good friends Cyrus (Rush) and Buffy (Wylie) have her back and are also trying to figure out how and where they fit into this crazy world.
Accustomed to acting as her parents, Andi’s grandparents Celia (Tom) and Ham (Westmoreland) still feel overprotective of her, even though Bex is home and ready to be a mother. Bex, for her part, is pretty good about nudging Andi to try new things. When Andi meets her father Bowie (Garrett), she has to figure out where he fits in her real life, rather than her fairytale image of family.
To complicate everything, Andy has quite a crush on Jonah Beck (Angel). Whether he likes her or not is sort of hard to figure out, so Andi spends a lot of time in the “Andi Shack,” — her own little hideaway in her backyard.

This show shouldn’t be cancelled, as a middle schooler (About to be freshmen) this is a very important show to show younger kids and even kids my age how to deal with Anxiety, Panic attacks, what a panic attack is, peer pressure, to tell a trusted adult if something is wrong, and it’s okay of you don’t want to come out of the closest to certain people you can come out when you’re ready, please don’t cancel it
i can maybe get saying not to watch it because teen pregnancies but periods & a gay character?? excuse me?? are you really gonna try to not let your kids watch a show because of a gay character (NATURAL.) and periods (ALSO NATURAL.)
excuse me but this is 2019 we’re living in, get with the times or get out.
I seriously hope that this show does not get canceled. It deals with important questions and provides great representation. I personally believe that everyone should watch Andi Mack, especially the narrow-minded people that want it to see it canceled. Perhaps you’ll learn something with it.
Cancel this show! I’m very upset that Disney has allowed this show be aired. Disney was suppose to be a good family channel. When I turn Disney on for my kids I shouldn’t have to worry about which show they choose to watch because they used to all be good wholesome shows. Now you brought this show out so I will be screening Disney channel for future shows to make sure they are appropriate. Leave gay characters for adult channels!!
I have to disagree with you. I feel like showing Cyrus as a gay male will show kids that, as Lin-Manuel Miranda once said, “Love is love is love is love is love is love, cannot be killed, nor swept aside”. I understand your feelings, I truly do, but I love the representation, to be honest. It’s not that I think people shouldn’t be able to love who they want to, it’s just that I’m not very comfortable with the concept. And besides, a gay character isn’t the only problem with the show. It also features periods and teen pregnancies. Teen. Pregnancies. Not to mention the stereotypical excuses for some of the characters (but not all of them, just a select few). Your thoughts are respected and they will always be.
Well, it turns out that Cyrus isn’t gay anymore, so there’s that.
I understand your concern, but it’s a show that deals with real life things that your children will encounter in real life, and will have to deal with in real life. It’s better in the long run to see stuff like that so your kids know it’s not bad. there are plenty of people who enjoy the show, don’t ruin it for them because you don’t want your kids to be exposed to a totally normal part of life and the world.
Dont mean to attacked you or whatever, but kids should be allowed to make their own choices in life. So far, this show is really important and talks about important topics that millennials can relate to! Don’t let sexuality and pride stuff ruin this show. Why are you criticizing a show that isn’t even meant for you? Different it good. Different is good in the year of 2018. “Gay stuff” is not the bad different.
The show deals with issues that kids in Middle School go through. Shows like Bunk’d, Liv and Maddie, Jessie are great but it doesn’t showcase what tweens/teenagers are going through. If you don’t have shows like Andi Mack, your basically just telling your audience that they should live in a make believe world. Think about it, shows like Bunk’d are not realistic. It gets tiresome to look at shows that have no storyline. Coop and Cami, Bizarrevark…just not great shows at all. That’s my opinion.
This show is absolutely appalling. Its plot is terrible, the characters are either controversial, stereotypical, or just plain unlikeable. I personally think it’s the worst show on Disney Channel. Honestly, the live-action sitcoms on Disney Channel just keep getting worse with each passing year. Some exceptions are Dog With a Blog (my personal favorite), Bunk’d, Jessie, Bizaardvark before Season 3, and Liv and Maddie. In conclusion, there were much better shows than Andi-Mack, and I hope this abomination gets canceled ASAP.

I would have to disagree and here’s why: it showcases a lot of things that teenagers and kids in this generation deal with. I don’t know if you’re an adult or not, or where you views on certain issues lie, but this shows is important for kids to show that the things they’re going through aren’t bad, and that they aren’t just going through them alone. As a grandparent and father I feel this show shows the reality of teenage life. Heartache, love, more heartache, friendship. New friends, jealousy. Things that teens really face every day. Then single parenting, complicated by the return of the missing parent. School issues, dating issues jealousy, competition!!!. These Disney writers have got real life down concerning teens and family. Add in the pressure of a teen with the desire to be considered masculine while also dealing with does he like girls or guys. What do you get?….LIFE!!!….Andi Mack!!!!!!

I love this show every episode brings something for you to get excited about and at the end of every episode it gives a glimpse look at what the next episode will be I hope there will be a season 3, and a season 4

I totally agree with you. I made my kids stop watching it as well. It’s just too much for young children to see.
Asha, Your comment is very well taken and it is up to us to guide our
children/grandchildren in a way that is pleasing to God. But we cannot shelter them from real world issues, use this program as a training tool.We home school, but we also allow our children to watch current affairs around the world. They must know what real life is. Andi Msck uses some techniques to help further that teaching.

As a Grandfather of thre teen ggirls and one 6 y.o. girlg, I find that Andi Mack really portrays a very good representation of life for this age. Well written and thought out.
Love that Disney finally has a Gay character on Disney channel.
