TV show description:
A drama, this TV series revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers. They have polar opposite views of the world and (possibly) a grudging respect for each other’s abilities as they clean up the streets of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) is a good but gruff and hard-boiled detective. He’s had his world turned upside down when strikingly handsome and charismatic Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) opens an FBI field office at the police station — and he chooses Russ to be his partner.
Milt’s polished sophistication and access to unlimited state-of-the-art equipment is impressive to his new co-workers in the absurdly underfunded department.
The pair work long hours together in the economically distressed city and it remains to be seen if Milt’s charm and endless supply of high-end resources or Russ’s old-fashioned cynicism, guile and deception will be the keys to catching the bad guys.
Other characters include Commander Guziewicz (Janet McTeer), Detective Fontanelle White (Kal Penn), Holly Dale (Aubrey Dollar), and Aaron Funkhauser (Edward Fordham, Jr.).
Episode #13 — Sympathy for the Devil
Milt survives a car bombing and enlists Russ to track down his would-be assassin, leading to startling revelations as to why Milt is the way he is and what brought him to Battle Creek.
First aired: May 24, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season instead?
CBS used to be respectable. Now I think it has become Constant Barrage of Sewage. I made the terrible choice of watching Battle Creek, since I have family in Michigan and some have lived in that area. It was time I will never get back. frown emoticon Here’s a synopsis of the plot: A gay man dressed as (Tony the Tiger) hurls himself in front of the mayor when gunshots ring out at the 31st annual Battle Creek Breakfast celebration. Crack addict mayor (Boss Hogg) was really shot by his jealous brother, Darryl and kidnapped by his pusher. Then gets… Read more »
My husband and I both love this show. Love the chemistry…hope it continues forever!
Love the show. I hope it makes it!
My favorite show already. Hope it is on for years.
This is a clever and creative show with interesting plots and good writers. They tell a story without tons of gore and violence, which is so different than the “same old-same old” boring crime procedural shows, and keep you looking for how the relationships will develop. Grounding the show in a “real people” location makes it unique and better, too. Looking forward to enjoying this show for a long time!
Excellent show…great casting!
Great Show would love to see it on for years
I like Battle Creek a lot. The chemistry between the cast characters is very good and honestly I see no raeson for the show to be canceled!!
After seeing Dean Winters as “Mayhem” on the Allstate commercials (and of course seeing him on L&A SVU) I convinced my husband, Bill, to watch Battle Creek. We have come to enjoy seeing what new damage Russ can do to himself while trying to best Milt.
P.S. I do wish the show’s creators had gone with a different name than Milton Chamberlain. It’s too close to Wilt Chamberlain, the great basketball player.
I think the play on names is intentional. Of course, I’m not sure.
I think the Milt Chamberlain was genius because Josh is incredibly tall but most people don’t realize the connection is intentional.
love the show has great actors/actress and is funny at times. Keep it on good, clean show!!!
Love it, best show on tv!!
I am from Battle Creek, Michigan. So I was really skeptical about the show. I keep watching it because it is named after my city. Not filmed here though, but the intro is video of the real Battle Creek. We actually have a bomb squad, k-9 unit, and crime scene investigators, lol. I thought the first few episodes were okay but, fourth episode was great. Yes, both Milt and Russ are flat in their affect, but still funny. I think they will change as they get to know each other and “man bond.” It definitely has potential. If the writer… Read more »
