It looks like the vacation is over. Recently, Jeff Dye confirmed that NBC has cancelled Better Late Than Never after two seasons.
The reality show follows Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, and George Foreman as they travel the world with both help and misdirection from tech-savvy comedian Jeff Dye.
On Twitter, Dye revealed NBC has decided not to renew Better Late Than Never. The series wrapped its second season in February with an average rating of .91 in the 18-49 demo and 4.819 million viewers. That’s a nearly 40% drop in ratings from season one.

What do you think? Have you seen Better Late Than Never? Are you sad it’s been cancelled?
Bring back Better late than Never!!! We loved it!!!
That’s so sad! It’s hilarious!!! Not sure why you would cancel an amazingly entertaining series. Bad decision
We are totally upset that Better Late Than Never has been cancelled. We loved watching the guys and what they would get into. We think NBC should rethink taking this hilarious good clean fun show off, but we know they won’t, it wasn’t just the Boomers that liked it you know, NBC.
Please reconsider and bring back “Better Late Than Never”. This show was must see TV for our family. It was absolutely hilarious and also very touching. It shows you are never too old!!!! Please reconsider!!!!! Maybe a mid-season replacement??
I am so unhappy with NBC’s decision!!!! This show was refreshing and made me laugh out loud. I am also unhappy that NBC only cares about those from 18-49 years old.. narrow minded.. There should be more shows like this which actually have some substance. There are only a handful of shows I find enjoyable these days, with this being one of them.. Maybe another network can pick this up since NBC has shown it’s true colors??
My wife and I and every friend that we shared the series with loved it. It was original and refreshing.
No violence, no gratuitous sex, enough spicy language and innuendoes to make the interactions real.
In addition to the casting the locales were very captivating. We need more series such as these than less.
Much more interested big than Lost, Survivor and the ubiquitous talent shows. Uniqueness lost!
My family and I are so bummed!! This was such a terrific show we could all sit down and watch. They leave on the violent garbage and lame sitcoms but take away the one show we actually made time to watch together each week. Commercials and all. So sad. Please! Some other station pick this up!!!
I’m not at all surprised. This is TYPICAL NBC! They never keep the fun shows that the whole family can watch & one that’s especially fun for Senior Citizens. It was a wonderful show w/a fantastic cast. Cancelling this is a big mistake. Hopefully FOX will pick it up!!!!
Oh my God!! I LOVE this show!!!! The Fonz AND The Shat?! Come on, it’s a dream to have all these guys together! And traveling the world?! For me, it’s such a pleasure to watch these guys from my past altogether, traveling to places I would give my right arm to go to! I love them! And am not ashamed to say I’m living vicariously through they’re travels! And it’s so funny, the things they do and say.
WE WANT…. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER…. BACK! THIS SHOW IS FANTASTIC BEYOND ANYTHING THAT IS ON REGULAR TV!!!!!!!
NOT BRING THIS SHOW BACK?!?!?!?
THATS INSANE! IF THESE GUYS WANT TO DO IT, THEN THE SHOW MUST GO ON! IF SOME OF THEM DONT, GET NEW AND FRESH BLOOD TO DO IT!
ITS A GREAT SHOW TO GET TO EXPLORE OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD AND HAVE A FEW LAUGHS WITH THEM!
PLEASE!
DO YOU AND THE NETWORK A FAVOR. REACH OUT TO DA BOYS AND BRING THEM BACK AND PUSH THEM OUT AGAIN ONTO THE OPEN SKY AND ROADS!
They targeted the wrong demographic group. Not everyone is 18-49. This show made me laugh so much, and everyone needs a good laugh. We always looked forward to each episode. NBC doesn’t seem to like much of their productions. I remember when they almost cancelled Cheers. They cancelled JAG and CBS picked it up for 9 more seasons. Wonder who makes the decisions? Maybe CBS would work with Winkler, since he is an executive producer there. Channel hopping seems to the rage now.
I cannot believe they cancelled the show. We looked forward to it every week and even watched the reruns! They can fill the damn time with crap shows and we’re supposed to be happy. I wish another station would take them on. Please try. I love these guys together. Good old fashioned funny. You stink NBC!
Loved this show so disappointed it is cancelled
I have never laughed so much. Loved the show and disappointed you cancelled it. Please reconsider.
So disappointed this show has been cancelled. Genuinely one of the most enjoyable shows on tv.
You have to wonder what the thinking is when executives cancel great shows.
