During the regular 2018-2019 television season, every returning CBS TV series dropped in the Nielsen ratings, except Ransom, which despite rising, still remained at the bottom of the barrel. It’s up to the summer schedule to pick up the slack. Enter the new Blood & Treasure TV show. Will it bleed viewers, or prove itself a jewel worthy of the Tiffany Network. Will Blood & Treasure be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A CBS action-adventure series, Blood & Treasure centers on antiquities expert Danny McNamara (Matt Barr) and art thief Lexi Vaziri (Sofia Pernas) who join forces to trap a terrorist. As Danny and Lexi travel the world, hot on the tail of their target, they become embroiled in an ancient conflict. Oded Fehr, Michael James Shaw, Katia Winter, James Callis, Alicia Coppola, and Mark Gagliardi also star.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly on the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
8/7 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Blood & Treasure TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season on CBS?
*6/26/19 update: CBS has renewed Blood & Treasure for a second season.
I like this program. Hope it won’t be cancelled.
I love Blood and Treasure. Too bad I only got to see it in CBS. After CBS was pulled from Direct TV, I almost didn’t get to see the end. Shame on whoever is at fault for preventing so many people from seeing their favorite shows from CBS on Direct TV. I Will be leaving Direct TV soon also due to this.
When will the networks understand that by putting a serial (think chapters of a book instead of short stories) on at 8 pm it is almost always going to loose viewers from week to week? Viewers miss an episode and begin to think “I won’t know how they got there so why set myself up for confusion?” This is especially the case during the summer. Also, people don’t DVR a new series as much until they can be sure the investment of time to catch up or to binge watch is worth it.
