The Reagan family dinners will continue. CBS has made a new deal with Tom Selleck and has renewed their Friday night drama, Blue Bloods, for a 10th season. In Fall 2019, the show will celebrate its 200th installment with its 10th season premiere.
A CBS police procedural, Blue Bloods stars Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, Sami Gayle, and Vanessa Ray. The family drama centers on the Irish-American Reagans, a multi-generational clan of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Selleck) leads both the police force and his brood.
Here’s CBS’ announcement about the renewal:
CBS RENEWS “BLUE BLOODS” FOR 2019-2020
TOM SELLECK SIGNS NEW DEAL TO RETURN FOR SHOW’S 10TH SEASON
CBS announced today that BLUE BLOODS has been renewed for the 2019-2020 television season, and Tom Selleck has signed a new deal to return for the show’s 10th year on the network. The top-10 series will celebrate its 200th episode when the show premieres in fall 2019.
“BLUE BLOODS has been a top-10 drama and Friday’s top-rated show every year it’s been on the air,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “On a night that many have claimed is quiet for broadcast television, its quality writing, superb acting and familial warmth have attracted an average of over 13 million passionate viewers each week for nine years. We are delighted that Tom will return and that the show will continue to be a vital component of the CBS schedule next season.”
BLUE BLOODS is currently the #8 most-watched show in all of broadcast television. It is also a digital success, and is the most-watched network drama on CBS’ digital platforms, including CBS All Access. The series premiered on Sept. 24, 2010, and has always maintained its position on Fridays at 10:00 PM.
BLUE BLOODS is the latest series pickup for CBS. The Network has also renewed YOUNG SHELDON, MOM, CRIMINAL MINDS, NCIS and the freshman hits FBI, GOD FRIENDED ME, THE NEIGHBORHOOD and MAGNUM P.I. for next season.
What do you think? Are you still watching the Blue Bloods TV show? How long do you think this CBS series should continue?
I have continued to be a faithful watcher but if you kick Tom off the show I will be gone too
I love this series out of all the cop shows there have been. The family dinners are so great to watch as those traditions seem to be lost in the real world. I havent seen season 9 or 10 if its out yet am waiting.
The writers and story line are very inferior to the previous series. They have abandon reality in exchange for superficial social comment. In last episode Danny takes on case of a Chinese couple he bumps into at the morgue (no other assigned cases I guess) then is uncharacteristically befuddled by Chinese culture. The brother of the missing daughter, a beat cop, joins Danny in the investigation of her disappearance. When EVER does a beat cop joining the investigation of a detective, particularly a family member of the person being investigated??? I could write pages of similar failed plots. Bring back… Read more »
This is one of my favorite shows; I’m sorry to see” Linda ” leave the show. I’d like to see more talk at the Sunday dinner with the three grandchildren about things happening in their lives, instead of the focus on the adults.
I am a HAPPY lady. My all time favorite show.
Great series for many reasons… Should continue for many years. Great cast, writing and concept. Keep up the great work!
I love Blue Bloods. It is heartwarming to see the family have their Sunday dinners yet still blowup at each other. I like the family values it brings…In addition to the family values is the suspense and drama it brings. Love the relationship of Eddie and Jamie, grandpa shows how the ‘good ole boy’s’ did things but Frank, Erin, Eddie and Nickie bring forth today’s changes regarding values, women’s roles and rights in today’s society. They put the realistic spin on the show of today’s political correctness! I love the show and will continue watching religiously and hope it continues… Read more »
I think BLUE BLOODS, NCIS, NCIS/NO AND THE CLOSER are the best shows on tv and should stay on as long as the cast will stay. I have been watching since they first came on would miss
I have been a fan of this show from the very beginning, love it and record it so I can watch it late at night! I’m very disappointed that whatever is going on with C.B.S. I am unable to get chanel four in my area so I have been unable to watch the shows that I would normally watch, (swat ), (Hawaii five o,) and of course my (blue bloods!) I really hope the problems thy are having will soon be over, and everything can get back to normal.
Blue Blood is my favorite show but there is one character that needs to go. It is Danny’s female partner. She is horrible with her weird faces and if you keep her we may stop watching show. I know you can do better.
I’m so glad that blue bloods is continuing. I personally think it’s the best drama out there…Keep it coming!
Blue Bloods is a great family show. Tom Selleck is the best. I want this show to continue
forever. I look forward to Friday night at 10:00p.m. to view my favorite show. I have been disappointed that you can no longer see shows on Friday or Saturday.
As a former prosecutor in Champaign County Illinois, I view this as one of the most authentic police shows I have seen. Keep it on. Tom is the best actor I have seen in a long time.
Will definitely watch, one of the top shows.
I think it’s a great mix of true life and family. I will continue to watch faithfully
