What’s This TV Show About?
An Amazon Prime Video historical drama, Britannia stars Kelly Reilly, David Morrissey, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Liana Cornell, Gershwyn Eustache Jnr, Mackenzie Crook, Barry Ward, Stanley Weber, Joe Armstrong, Fortunato Cerlino, Callie Cooke, Aaron Pierre, Eleanor Worthington-Cox, Zoë Wanamaker, Ian McDiarmid, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Hugo Speer, Daniel Caltagirone, Zaqi Ismail, and Annabel Scholey. A century prior, even Julius Caesar failed to conquer Britannia. Now, in 43AD, Emperor Claudius has dispatched General Aulus (Morrissey) with 400 ships bringing 20,000 men to its shores. There, the Romans must deal with warring Cantii and Regni tribes, warrior queens, and the enigmatic Druids.
Britannia has been renewed for a second season on Epix which will debut October 4, 2020. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize its viewership, it is hard to predict whether Amazon will cancel or renew Britannia for season two. Since it is a Sky Atlantic TV series, its success in UK is crucial to whether or not there will be a second season for Amazon to pick up. 3/16/2018 update: Sky Atlantic has renewed Britannia for a second season. Amazon hasn’t announced a cancellation or renewal, but this points to a second season in the US. I’ll update when we hear more from Amazon. Details here.

We just watched season 1 and are hoping Amazon will pickup season 2
I love the show. I really hope Amazon renews it. I will be very disappointed.
This was released on sky Network on November 7th 2019 according to sky Network since this is a joint venture between them and Amazon Amazon was supposed to release this on prime in the US on November 14th a week after its release on sky Typical Amazon has not release it as they are not very trustworthy when it comes to releasing their own damn shows in a timely fashion chances are I will not be renewing my freaking prime membership this coming January because of this fact. Really mad about this! Britannia has been available on Sky TV since 7 Nov. There was a week delay with season one between it airing on Sky and then on Prime. So I have been checking Amazon every day to see if it is up. I do not even see Season 1 listed anymore. I figured maybe the release was delayed since they just put up more The Man in the High Castle (which is a mess, BTW—miserable, hurried ending) but now I wonder. You might want to check again season 1 is still available under Amazon originals I’m in the middle of watch re-watching it.

Awful. Totally inaccurate and assumes magic is real? It makes Braveheart look well researched. Pure garbage that is trying to hard.
You should maybe stick to documentaries. Avoid movie theaters.

Britiana is one of the best shows on television and I really hope it is going to continue. This series is so unique that there is nothing like it anywhere. Please bring it back.

Oh please please continue Brittania if for no other reason than Hurdy Gurdy. Seriously, even without my Girl Crush Kelly Reilly, I love this show, the approach, the story line, the historical connections, the characters, the deeper look into the Druids, and it is a breath of fresh air for historical fiction and drama. We at least need to see “what’s next” for the girl with no name!
I have always been a big fan of Greek Mythology,,and anything that relates to it,, it took me a couple of episodes to get really hooked, but once I was, now I want more!! Please dont end this now, when it’s just getting good,,,I cant wait to see what tbe Gods have in store for them now,, that they are in the new world! Hurry up season 2!!! Lol. Great Show
