Chance isn’t getting a third chance. Deadline reports Hulu has cancelled the TV show after two seasons.
The psychological drama stars Hugh Laurie as a forensic neuropsychiatrist. The cast also includes Diane Farr, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Gretchen Mol, Paul Adelstein, and Ethan Suplee.
Hulu has not given a reason for the cancellation, but it’s likely Chance never garnered a big enough audience or critical attention. What do you think? Have you seen Chance? Do you think Hulu should’ve renewed the series?
i canceled YOU Hulu for canceling Chance !!! maybe Netflix will pick it up…
My very favorite show, so sad I do hope Hulu reconsiders and changes its mind!
Dark. Edgy. Atmospheric. Terrific cast and script. This is truly one of the best crime series on offer at the moment. There’s a dark undercurrent, corruption runs deep in a predatory world that produces victims but little hope…enter a code of warrior Nietzsche-ian vigilantism that present an entertaining dynamic in a predatory dog eat dog world. Fascinating.
i loved this show alot. hugh’s acting was on point. the show was dark interesting had a few good wtf moments. BUT i hated the season 2 ending. i did read the book afterwards to get my chance “fix”. the story line was wrapped up with in the 2 seasons. did wish they could have continued the show
Absolutely my favorite & only series. I’m so very disappointed to learn that it has been cancelled :{
The second season was edge of my seat fantastic. My compliments and gratitude to the cast, writers and all the artists involved.
So I only just started watching it this weekend. Hulu really doesn’t understand how this all works! We hear about shows because someone started talking about it. Then after we finish binge watching whatever we happen to on at the moment, we look for that show so-and-so told us about! Now I’m hooked and very disappointed that these characters in whom I have become invested, are no more! Thanks a lot Hulu!
That really stinks that Chance was cancelled! We really enjoyed this show and it makes me re-think subscribing to Hulu. We had never seen Ethan Suplee before but he was AWESOME! Please bring it back!!
What a joke! The only shows that seem to days on these days are shallow & generic. How dare something unique be on TV…. guess I won’t be needing Hulu anymore.
So upset. Love the show. Every actor was perfectly cast. Good dialogue and intriguing plots. Mr. Suplee shines.
The last 3 years I have been watching over 20 shows and when a friend of mine asked me to recommend something good to him I couldn’t. I mean they were all good but nothing outstanding nothing that will make me say “watch it, that is awesome and you gonna love it”.
And that was until I found out Chance that was months after the question mentioned above and even so I immediately remembered it and called my friend and said “I finally found a show that shines above the others”
Too bad it will be no more episodes 🙁
This is so depressing… I am so into this show. God…, I pay for Hulu, the customer should tell Hulu when the show should be over. Is there away to tell Hulu this is a truly bad cancellation of a show that still could have 5+ great seasons? Maybe another network will pick it up. I can then save my money I spend on Hulu.
I wish I could say that I’m surprised. Unfortunately, it was entirely predictable. Chance was far to good to be renewed. Most viewers and critics are too dense to recognize this level of quality, and executives couldn’t even find ‘quality’ in the dictionary.
I loved this show !!! Was so looking forward to it !! Why ????
A terrible decision.
I blame Hulu for this though because they failed to promote the show in the manner that it should have been.
Furthermore I am tired of seeing shows ending without at least having them wrapped up, so Hulu should produce a couple of episodes to create a conclusion.
Not doing so makes me less likely to watch new shows until they have completed so that I am not continually disappointed.
Hulu…..Please PLEASE PLEASE do not cancel Chance!! My entire family is addicted to this wonderful film noir.
