Charmed, which recently celebrated a milestone as being the longest-running show featuring all female leads, may be headed for a big finish. Last year, it looked like the WB’s long-running show about beautiful witches was going to be cancelled but the series was given a new season order at the last minute. This year, with the contracts of the female leads (Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, Rose McGowan and Kaley Cuoco) and executive producer Brad Kern expiring, it looks doubtful there will be a ninth season.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, Kern said, “Nobody at WB will commit one way or the other. I’ve heard nothing about it. As far as I’m concerned, this is it. Last year the show was held in limbo, but fortunately ‘the governor called’ and we got another year. I wasn’t able to craft a season or series finale [then], so I did sort of a hybrid, which to me was disappointing creatively. ”
He continued, “This year, with no contract for the girls and no contract for me, the WB seems to be looking forward to looking for ‘the next generation’ of shows. We’re still an expensive show, and all those factors tell me that, here in the middle of January, I’m just pushing toward the series finale. It’s too late for them to say, ‘We want to find a way to make a ninth season’ — but it doesn’t mean there can’t be a spin-off.”
Kern went on to say that, in an ideal world, he would bring back many of the past cast members for an appearance. But, with budgetary issues having taken center stage this year (hence the reduced appearances of Brian Krause’s Leo character), it seems doubtful that you’ll see the return of Shannon Doherty’s Prue or Julian McMahon’s Cole.
Still, Kern has other magical surprises in store for fans saying, “The huge problem I have to deal with this year is the budget cutback. I’m trying to save money each episode so I can afford to bring back as many of the regular cast members as possible. Who that will be, I don’t know, but my plan is to have the equivalent of a ‘family reunion’ including as many people as I can afford.” In addition, Kern didn’t rule out the possibility of creatively used flashbacks. 
Charmed cannot end. It is one of the best shows on television. I have watched it from the beginning and it has so many continuous surprises. Piper, Paige, and Phoebe had many more adventures. Also, we need to bring back Leo. Please don’t let it end.

It is sad to see my favorite show come to end, but everything has to end at one point. Please do a spin off on the boys that would be great, I hope we see Pheobe find true love before the show ends.I would rather theshow NOT be canceled I have followed it from the beginning, It gave the Wiccans and Pagans hope as not to be outcast from the community,It proved that we are NOT Evil or wicked. We are for the good not the evil.
OMG IM STILL IN SHOCK WITH ALL TATS BEEN HAPENING IN MI FAV. SHOW CHARMED. I STILL REMEMBER THE VERY FIRST SEASON. THIS SHOW ISNT ALL WITCHCRAFT LIKE MANY WOULD THINK IT MAKES YOU THINK ABOUT SIBLINGHOOD AND ALMOST EVERYTHING CONNECTED TO LOVE. I think Brad ( Mr. Kern) should make replicas of the Book of Shadows and sell them at all the book stores in America and maybe the money would help them to get a ninth season going and maybe be enough for the show to keep goimg past twenty seasons.
I beg u please please dont let CHARMED Go! Without that show, i would die please PIper, Paige, and Phoebe; dont let them take the show away i love u guys and I cant live with out seeing the Power of 3 in action and eliminating evil and more importantly its my dying wish*
I have been watching charmed tv series for the past 8 years and I haven’t messed an episode. And I have taped every episode. So I can watch them over and over again. I have gotten so involved with the 3 sister witches that I have bought all kinds of books on witchcraft. Sometimes I like to thank I am a witch. I can’t believe that the show is being put to rest like this. The WB has really been sloppy with ending an extremely amazing series like Charmed. Honestly, I think if the show is going to end then they should end it with the original cast and bring on “Prue” as a guest star for a few episodes. It makes sense, it would bring a better sense of closure to the show. Also, the final battle I hope includes telling the Elders where to go. I love the show too!!!!!!!! I live in belgium (Europe) and we’re watching season 6 here again. I realy hope the cast will do something for remembering Charmed. I just love the acctrices (Piper, Phoebe, Paige)and the actors (leo, Chris, Little and big Wyatt), the shows and there books. Please let Charmed stay!!!!! Do it for all the other Charmed-ones in the world!!!!

I don’t want charmed to go off air. One of my favorite shows is already gone, don’t let the other one go off air either. I will be very disapointed if they cancel the show. It is my favorite show in the whole wide world. So I am asking please don’t take the show off air.
It’s very sad and slightly bittersweet that this show is going off air…granted, it had seen better days, but still… spin-off sounds like a good idea! Hard to believe this show was on since I was eight, can’t believe time’s gone so fast.
