ABC is still supporting Child Support. Today, the network announced they’ve renewed the TV show for a second season.
Hosted by Fred Savage and created by Ricky Gervais, the game show asks adult players to try and answer 10 questions correctly for a prize of $200,000. When the grownups give the wrong answer, that’s when five cute and funny kids ride to the rescue.
A Look at the Ratings:
ABC‘s renewal of Child Support is surprising given its poor ratings. Over six episodes, season one averaged a .72 rating in the 18-49 demo and 3.742 million viewers, making it on one of the network’s lowest-rated unscripted series for the 2017-2018 season.

The series features adult contestants and priceless interactions between funnyman Ricky Gervais and a group of five kids who say the most unpredictable things.Hosted by Fred Savage, contestants are asked to answer 10 questions correctly to earn the top prize. I love the show. So happy to hear that it was renewed! A fun family game show that my 7 year old granddaughter, my daughter and myself enjoyed watching and playing along with the contestants.
I love this show. It is so fun and comical and it is just amazing to see how much those kids know.
The only tough part about watching it when it’s actually on is when it is on at 8 PM I had to DVR or watch the next day on demand because it was too early.
Refreshing—and fun to watch–the whole team works beautifully together–

Yes, I would love to Child Support stay on the air. I feel it’s enjoyed by adults as well as children. The children watching the show seems to pay attention so this means they are learning something positive from the show.

This show is so refreshing and brings me laughter after a long work day.. Perhaps the children can be switched out now and then so they do not become bored.. PLEASE do not ever cancel this show!! Like Jeopardy, it could be a TV staple!!
I loved this show!! The kids were believable and their interactions with Gervais perfect! Wonderful Gil to see Fred Savage again! Can’t wait for next season!
I love this show! It’s so nice for something on TV to be ok and clean enough for the whole family to watch, other than Disney. We always watch it On Demand. I keep telling my kids that I should totally be a contestant on this show because I’ve answered a lot of the questions correctly!
Absolutely loved and was fascinated with this show. The kids were super intelligent, articulate, and lovable. Ricky Gervais handled them beautifully ad provided loads of laughs. I look forward to Season two.
I would love this if they would have someone talk to the kids in English. I can’t understand him half the time.
Rita, I suggest you put your closed captioning feature on your TV if you can’t understand Mr. Gervais’ British accent. I actually enjoy listening to him but do use my captioning.
I found the show to be hilarious entertaining and surprisingly with the childrens intelligent
I LOVE this show. I’m not in the demographic target, but I thought it was original, unscripted (kids), and worthy of another run.
