What’s in store for the end of Code Black? Recently, executive producer Michael Seitzman spoke with TVLine about the CBS TV show’s upcoming series finale.
As reported earlier, the network has cancelled the medical drama after three seasons. The cast includes Marcia Gay Harden, Luis Guzmán, Boris Kodjoe, Harry Ford, Benjamin Hollingsworth, William Allen Young, Emily Tyra, Noah Gray-Cabey, Emily Alyn Lind, Moon Bloodgood, and Rob Lowe.
In the interview, Seitzman revealed there will be some closure for the series finale of Code Black, which is slated to air on CBS on July 18th at 10 p.m. ET/PT:
At the end of every season, we’ve ended the season to be a story ender for everybody so there’s a sense of closure not just among the audience who we make the show for but also for ourselves. The third season had the added specter of a possible cancellation, which made it more urgent for us to create something for every story that felt like an ending to some degree.”

What do you think? Do you watch Code Black? How do you want the series to end?
I’m very disappointed to see Code Black to come to an end. Very disappointed in the network.
I’m so mad they are cancelling this show. It is one of few great medical shows on tv now. I like this one and night shift. I mean this has great actors and an amazing story line. What in the world decides to cancel? Stupid tv people apparently. It pisses me off when I get into a show and then bam it’s over. This was watched by enough people to keep it on! Wrong choice in doing this cbs. You don’t have many big shows to brag about as it is. Don’t cancel this one
I don’t want the show to end. I don’t know what is wrong with CBS for cancelling this show. It is one of the best medical dramas on. Please Please don’t cancel it.
I don’t want the show to end!!!!! What is wrong with you, CBS?????? Why on Earth would you even consider canceling the show??? It is one of the best shows on television now.
Betty, all the good shows are being cancelled. No more game shows, please. No more talent shows either. Netflix is getting better for me to like.
Please do not cancel Code Black ! You have not given the show a fair chance, with very little advertising what do you expect? It is the BEST show to come out in years! Please, please give it a good run to build up a loyal following. I know a lot of people that really enjoy this show.
We can’t believe they cancelled Code Black. It’s the best program on TV. We like NCIS, and all the others, but they beginning to be mundane. Code Black injected new life into our TV viewing. Some new and different. All the characters were very likeable!!! With all the reality shows, which are really not reality shows, there isn’t anything on TV. Reality shows are so contrived, we don’t watch any of them. All the cooking shows have gone in that direction, too. The same old stuff day in and day out!!! Now, not much to see. Dam!!!!!
Why cancel one is the best medical dramas on TV right now. Smh!!
This is a great show and reminds me of E.R.! Maybe a different night or time slot would keep it going! There are so many bad shows that get to stay on but the one great drama gets cancelled! I hope there is a last minute decision to let it stay.
Please don’t cancel Code Black!! It is the best show on TV!!! I guess we will have to stop watching CBS because they keep the idiotic shows and cancel the best shows.
I DO NOT want it to end!
It is better than Chicago Med, real scenes, real people…I don’t want it to end…go to Fox or another station..wrong move…
So sad to hear they are cancelling Code Black! By far one of the best shows on tv now. Any chance another network might pick up? Really love the show and all characters, have watched every episode.
While CBS keeps advertising for shows such as “Salvation” they pull an extremely interesting, smart with great cast program such as “Code Black.” There’s really no intelligent reason to cancel this wonderful program. I could go on to name several series on CBS that are useless, but for some reason they cancel one of their best.
This is one of the best series on TV! It is a sham to canx, compared to what else is available. Great cast and story lines. Amazing staging and photography. I hope somebody else would pick it up!!!
I really hate that Code Black is cancelled!!! Please reconsider and bring it back:(
