TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
Enjoy the show very much. Particularly like the Mamma and Mario characters
My husband and I have fallen in love with this show! We really hope it’s climbing in the ratings… Please… renew!!!
I love this show! Please don’t cancel it in favor of another “reality
show”, they are so “unreality!
Code Black has a great show even if I have to tape the show so I. could watch the show the next day.
As a medical professional, I can honestly say it is one of the best shows that has been on TV in many years. I love numerous CBS dramas but by and far the best of the bunch.
Fantastic show….would hate to see it cancelled
Code Black has the wonderful
cast
Love this show…it’s great entertainment with excellent acting. Love Marcia Gay, she is a wonderful actress and a great lead on this show. Let’s hope CBS hears those of us who watch and keeps it on the air.
I agree – it is great so realistic great acting
Love this show , very realistic!!!!!! Hopefully stays around for awhile
Love this show , very realistic!!!!!!
We love this show, and are glad that it seems to be CLIMBING in the Ratings. Hope it stays on for a while.
To much noise, can’t hear everything said, hard to follow…………if this is what every episode
Will be like I will not continue to watch.
Ms Webber, I am sorry that it is difficult to keep straight. However, as someone who has worked in Emergency Departments in NY City and other places that when it is code yellow that it is a little chaotic but by the time codes red and black are hit the staff are often only using training but also instincts which makes it very difficult to not be incredibly noisy over even more chaotic. This show is very close to the real thing.
Code Black is the best show that is
on the air even if I have tape the show
so I could watch the show.
Great show but part of what makes it great is Luis Guzman. I read he will only be in two episodes – BIG MISTAKE, BIG! BIG Mistake! I want more of Luis Guzman!!!
Is the show going to replace the night
shift because they are good.
