Despite ratings declines in its first two seasons, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow TV show wasn’t cancelled last spring. Still, its third season renewal makes sense, because it remained a top-three performer for The CW, during the 2016-17 television season. Can this spin-off of Arrow and The Flash keep drawing in viewers, or has the novelty worn off? Will DC’s Legends of Tomorrow be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned.
A DC Comics inspired CW action-adventure series, Legends of Tomorrow stars Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Arthur Darvill, Amy Pemberton, Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano, Tala Ashe, and Neal McDonough. Thanks to fracturing the timeline, in season three, the Legends have to restore all the anachronisms to their rightful timelines, before the time stream falls apart. However, Rip Hunter (Darvill) and the Time Bureau prompt them to disband, until Sara (Lotz) gets the band back together.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

For comparisons: The second season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow averaged a 0.64 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.81 million total viewers (Live+SD).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow TV series? Should this CW TV show be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
4/2/18 update: The CW has ordered a fourth season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for the 2018-19 season. Details here.
I love this show I watch all dc shows because i have been a fan and so far a watch the flash black lighting dc legends of tomorrow.
Like most super hero stories you have to use your imagination and leave reality behind. It’s a fun show that doesn’t take itself seriously. They are, after all, misfits and unapologetic about it. They’ve performed better than Arrow.
This has to be the second worse show on the CW. The first one being Supergirl she deserves the honor of worst show!!! Just a big no one cares about supergirl. I have many reasons for this, Legends has many talented actors but the characters are just horribly written. I blame this on the writers for the show. I watched the whole first season and thought the whole entire time wow this show is dumb. No matter the talent of the actor it didn’t make a make a difference the writing was just so bad. I watched a couple episodes… Read more »
This show lit Amaya and Nate’s need to find a way to make it work
I love this show, please don’t cancel
I love this show, my favourite Arrowverse show. Caity Lotz is amazing, one of the best actresses around, she and Jes Macallan brought the show to a higher level. The plot is pleasant, sometimes dramatic, sometimes carefree, the authors are really fantastic
I love this show. Got to be my favourite. The silliness of ruining time keeps me watching which I find entertaining. Please renew
Out of the Arrowverse shows this is by far the weakest. After the 4 part cross over with Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, and Legends, I started watching the other 3. Flash and Arrow I’ve continued watching but Legends is just too dumb.
Well I happen to love DC’s Legends of Tomorrow! So as long as it’s on the air and keeps being renewed I will continue to watch it.
Such a waste of talents of Arthur Darvill and Victor Garber for a mediocre writing that depends on borrowed movie references just to keep the show going. Luckily Wentworth Miller had gotten out before this show collapse.
You will be happy to know that Victor Garber has left the show, Arthur Darvill is gone too it seems. But Wentworth Miller has returned for more episodes.
The show is dead. So boring, to political, sad it had such a potential. Writer’s should have their buts handled.
The baby Dominator was adorable. Young Ray was an even cuter nerd than Young Sheldon. And Nate putting the moves on Ray’s mom was hilarious.
I Stopped watching show late season 2 . They ruined a Great show 🙁
Right up to season 3 ep. 3 I was a diehard fan. I loved the mindless fun of the show. That been said the moment they made their political statement with the show, I stopped watching. I have not watched ep.4, and I never will. For a show that is struggling you would think not pissing on your fans would be a no brainier.
What Happened ?
I watched that episode too and I am also curious as to what triggered him.
It’s that episode with powered people getting locked up. Maybe he believes that a group like gay people deserve to be locked up, and the show is liberal agenda to say it’s wrong or something, who knows. Either that or he has SJW notions and thinks the show is saying it’s alright to put minorities in jail, just by depicting it, even if they’re showing how they’re actually against it.
Every time someone starts complaining about a show having a political agenda you know right away the person complaining has a political agenda. Ironic, isn’t it.
people are just sick of political agendas.!! but your right about jesse.
