It looks like its case closed for fans of the Deputy TV series. FOX has decided not to order a second season of the Thursday night TV show for the 2020-21 season.
A crime drama, Deputy stars Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman who is thrust into the role of Los Angeles County Sheriff after the elected sheriff dies. The show’s cast also includes Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses.
The first season of Deputy averaged a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.67 million viewers. Deputy had a mediocre start in the ratings when it launched in January but the ratings slid downward over the course of the season. The show’s 13th and final installment aired last week.
Deputy is FOX’s second-lowest rated dramatic series of the season. The lowest-rated drama, Almost Family, has already been cancelled.

What do you think? Have you seen the Deputy TV series? Would you have watched season two?
Loved the show.
I absolutely can’t believe they are cancelling it!! This show is awesome!!
So disappointed. This was an excellent show with great acting and storyline. Stephen Dorff nailed his role. Too bad such a quality show is being cancelled.
I am sad to see the show go. It was a good show with a moral theme that the whole family could watch. I hope the producers will give it another chance.
Carol Bullard
That bites we really liked this show
Another good show you get into and follow. Only to be canceled. I hardly watch fox for anything but football. Now I won’t.
Great show Good moral characters Too bad it is being cancelled. 5
Great show, riveting plots, we always looked forward towards each episode. It was a mistake to cancel a great series.
That’s ******** . One of the best cop shows on tv.
There are so many bad shows these day’s and when a good one comes along they Papoo it. Thoroughly pissed.
Yes, I would have watched season 2,3 and beyond. This is a terrific show. You need to give shows more time to find their audience. We were just getting to the back story of the characters, now we will never know. Gone are the days when a show was given 13 episodes…like Little House,TheWaltons, shows that didn’t do well at first but became beloved by viewers be cause the station have them a CHANCE. I am SO disappointed in Fox…..again.
We really enjoyed this show and were shocked to see it cancelled. A good cast, good scripts and portraying strong family ties – please reconsider and bring it back for one more season (maybe a better time slot??).
Thank you.
I never believed in how number of viewers are determined. This was a great hour of entertainment and I no more people watched and enjoyed it than their ratings show. Fox, I hope someone else picks this up and it becomes their number one hit
Deputy was the wife and I favorite show. Great action, great story line……who gives up crap what 18-49 year olds think! They don’t have any money to buy what the sponsors are selling anyway! Big mistake by Fox maybe netflix will buy the show, like they did with Longmire, I got Netflix just to watch Longmire to the end. The people who make these decisions need to remember that age group is out to dinner or at the bar while us over 50’s are watching this show!
Loved this show, best police drama in a long time. Nice to see police in a positive vane. Looked forward to Thursdays TV watching. Hope it rejuvenates somehow.
This is so unfair! This was a real well written show! The filming was fantastic. The sepia tone made a impact! Why would they do this? A real tragedy! Can they not renew? It just needs to find it’s audience. They never give show time!!
Wife and I LOVED Deputy! Please bring it back!!!
