It looks like its case closed for fans of the Deputy TV series. FOX has decided not to order a second season of the Thursday night TV show for the 2020-21 season.
A crime drama, Deputy stars Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman who is thrust into the role of Los Angeles County Sheriff after the elected sheriff dies. The show’s cast also includes Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses.
The first season of Deputy averaged a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.67 million viewers. Deputy had a mediocre start in the ratings when it launched in January but the ratings slid downward over the course of the season. The show’s 13th and final installment aired last week.
Deputy is FOX’s second-lowest rated dramatic series of the season. The lowest-rated drama, Almost Family, has already been cancelled.

I would have watched it. Was a great show about family and good values. I’m very sad that they didn’t renew this great show. They should listen to viewers instead of always thinking about money
What is wrong with the cowboys wearing the white hats winning out over evil in the end? This is how our parents and grandparents raised us after a grueling World War and how our nation became a world leader in so many endeavors as a result. Not so much anymore. I guess that the mindless comedies win out! It is sad but not at all surprising, considering what most of society chooses to embrace.
It’s a sad day. I really like this show and I don’t think it got a fair chance. I mean not even a full season!!!! I think fox should have at least given it a second full season!! I mean fox channel sucks cause of this. Anything I like and watch isn’t even given a chance. Not to mention all the things left without conclusion. I may only be one person by because of this I will no longer watch anything they put on. They should cancel themselves cause they just really suck!!!
Having DEPUTY opposite Grey’s Anatomy was a Big, big, big mistake. First I tried to watch both at once going back and forth. Next I watched DEPUTY the following day. Apparently that didn’t make the ratings and lots of people, like myself, are addicted to Grey’s Anatomy. Bad timing guys!!!!
So sorry to see this show cancelled. Back to turning off the tv and reading a book on Thursday nights.
Loved it! I am a big fan of cowboys and westerns which you just don’t get anymore. Realistic family stories and you can relate to the characters. Also just absolutely LOVE Bishop.
I’m so disappointed. This was my favorite new series of the season. Great acting, engaging storyline.
It’s sad that the only thing that seems to do well are mindless comedies or things watched by a certain “demographic”. Companies need yo understand that there is a lot of buying power in older demos as well! Not all of us are 18-49 but if you keep cancelling well done shows like this we will start watching different mediums such as streaming, etc! Please reconsider!

You have to be kidding. It’s one of the better shows this season. At least is wasn’t a carbon copy of what there showing now. It was a little different. Very enjoyable. Sad to see it go.
