In the network’s commitment to get out of the “sitcom business,” the CW has cancelled Everybody Hates Chris. There won’t be a fifth season but luckily series creator Chris Rock beat them to the punch.
Everybody Hates Chris is loosely based on Rock’s early life and features Tyler James Williams, Terry Crews, Tequan Richmond, Tichina Arnold, Imani Hakim, and Vincent Martella.
The show’s been around for four seasons and its viewership has been in decline for awhile. It certainly didn’t help that, this season, the CW decided to strand the sitcom on little-watched Friday nights. Added to the fact that Chris doesn’t exactly match the network’s targeted demographic, it was obvious that the show’s days were numbered.
Rather than take a chance on not being able to give the show a proper ending, Rock decided to finish the show on his own terms. The season four finale revolves around Chris dropping out of high school, just as Rock did in real life. If the series had returned for year five, it could have explored his journey to do stand-up but as it is, the season finale still works as a last episode. There’s even a not-so-subtle nod to the famous Sopranos finale at the end.
Williams is currently pursuing a film course at New York University and is satisfied with the final episode. He told TV Guide, “If it ends here, we ended it the right way.” Rock agreed, saying, “It might not be a bad way to go.”
Are you upset or glad that the show won’t be back for season five?

where can i read the manga?
I really lоve the series and want it to continue
I just finished the series and I am sad they did not continue the show. Reading “Chris doesn’t exactly match the network’s targeted demographic”, makes me wonder who their demographic is. Honestly, I do think this show is ahead of its time. I didn’t care for the show when it was on the air, but when I watched it on Hulu I realized how I relate to the show.
I read about the animated series coming soon, and hopefully it will have the original cast.
Sincerely,
TVenthusiast
So the show ended with them singing a Bon Jovi’s song. A guy getting to the dinner suspiciously going somewhere and Julius arriving to know the result.
The suspicious guy was a rob and I think he shoot them at the end… we’ll never know if Julius was the hero at the end.

I didn’t want Everybody Hate Chris to end that was one of the best life series to ever exist
This was one of the funniest shows I’ve ever watched and I related so much to it, even as a teenager and young adult. It should have aired on Nick at Night on Nickelodeon though. The demographic is more diverse in age on that network.
My family and I have only just completed the fourth season and we’re utterly gutted to realise that that’s it… no more witty and cleverly written series to enjoy. I jumped on the net to search for season five, but ended up reading the reasons behind why the show was cancelled. Gutted.
Everybody Hates Chris show is one of the best comedy shows I have ever seen! I demand it be restarted!!!
I liked the show. Appreciated when it was on live stream due to that I already pay $182 just for internet. I can’t afford cable. One bill, a single parent with rent, car, healthcare costs. I barely have food and gas to survive let alone dental and whatever. This show brought me some peace of mind, with comedy relief in relevance. I’m sad to see it ended in such a way of cable tv stuff and cable stupid expensive.
TRAGIC, TRAAAAAAGIC!!!
Bruh I loved this show it ended horribly….leaves the viewers curious
I was very dissapointed in the ending they could of made it better i loved that show man
The ending was abrupt and disappointing. Me and my siblings. Really love the show!
I love this show. I would have watched 10 seasons.
I’m mad!!!! I loved this show!!!!
its a nice show
I don’t like the show due to the hatred that’s going on in This country. It displays caucasians throwing things and hitting Chris all the time. Cancel the reruns please.
It’s fiction, calm down.
Not showing people’s realities is unfortunately the perfect foundation for ignorance to grow and flourish. Awareness is key for a one to better their perspectives, and develop empathy for others… on the same hand, it’s a comedy show for entertainment
So because it shows things that really happened, it should be canceled along with reruns? That’s like canceling the movie Pearl Harbor because it’s too realistic. You don’t make hatred go away through censorship. As people who uphold the constitution, I thought you’d have better sense than to believe that.
