It seems Syfy has given up the ghost. The Ghost Wars TV show on Syfy has been cancelled after one season. Rob Owen, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports he has confirmed the Ghost Wars cancellation. Since there will be no second season, the season one finale episode, “…My Soul to Keep” will also serve as the Ghost Wars TV series finale.
A Syfy horror drama, Ghost Wars stars Avan Jogia, Vincent D’Onofrio, Kim Coates, Kandyse McClure, Kristin Lehman, Meat Loaf Aday, Sarah Giles, Allison James, Elise Gatien, and Sonja Bennett. The supernatural saga unfolds in isolated Port Moore, Alaska, which has been overrun by paranormal activity. It centers on local loner Roman Mercer (Jogia), a troubled psychic whose ability to see the dead has been the bane of his existence. The residents of Port Moore tend to look upon Roman as an outcast. In order to rescue them from the mass haunting which could be their undoing, Roman must first conquer their narrow-minded preconceptions, as well as the skeletons in his own closet.
Ghost Wars: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of Ghost Wars averaged a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 376,000 viewers. Of the Syfy TV shows we’ve been tracking, those ratings left Ghost Wars ranked 11th out of 14 scripted TV series. In other words, the cancellation is understandable.

I found out about it late and just watched the first 12 episodes and I have to say it was really good its a shame that it got cancelled but NO SURPRISE SY FY LIKE FOX’S GIVES UP ON THE SHOWS THEY SHOULD KEEP BUT KEEP THE ONES THEY SHOULD CANCEL HOPE THAT IT GETS PICKED UP ON NETFLIX THIS SHOW HAS POTENTIAL
Please, return ghost wars back on syfy! It was an amazing show! There needs to be more tv series like this one about ghosts. U can’t find nothing like this. This was my favorite show to watch & looked forward to seeing it. Give it another chance? A second chance. You all take off the great tv shows & leaving us with stupid & boring series that we don’t want to watch or don’t care about? I really think Syfy should give “Ghost Wars” one more season!! Looked forward to this show each week and the hour that it was on, didn’t seem like an hour! Awesome show! Bring it back!!!!
I have really liked Ghost Wars, miss it and always set aside the time and day it aired. It was one of the better new shows of last season. Hope someone realizes this and will resurrect it.

I really liked this show SyFy has gotten rid of some of my favorites. Bad move SyFy . I also thought Dark Matter was a good one!!
I would have gone at least another season then check the ratings and fan base.
They need to put this show on for season 2 it is an awesome show and the hour that it shows on TV is one of the fastest hours for a show.

Yes there should be a second season! This was an excellent show. Great diversity of characters, plot was great, lots of twists. Unexpected ending. Please make a second season.
Yes. You definitely should have a second season. Myself and plenty other viewers were not aware of this series Ghost Wars until seeing it available on demand on syfy. After watching the series we the viewers were very excited for a second season. You should take that into consideration before canceling a show!!!!!!

It seems like SyFy cancels their best shows & keeps the crappy ones. Because of this I don’t watch SyFy as often.
What’s with this stupid line used over and over again that whatever network prefers the “crappy shows”? Get real. This show was cancelled because of the ratings. Blame viewers for not being interested. Not the network for doing business and avoiding making losses.

“Nice” comeback to a perfectly logical comment. That’s how business is done, shows that make losses get cancelled (Ghost Wars is among the lowest rated of SyFy’s shows). Instead of blaming the network, blame the people who won’t give the show a chance (Do you really think SyFy would cancel it if it was among the highest rated?). You mentioned logic… how about this: if the network doesn’t advertise the product effectively to their niche market, the network IS to blame. Blaming audiences is silly. The show is great… but perhaps its marketers failed.
