Looks like CBS is unfriending God Friended Me. CBS just announced they’ve cancelled the TV show after two seasons, Deadline reports.
The series revolves around a thoughtful and outspoken podcaster named Miles (Brandon Micheal Hall) whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from a user named “God.” The cast also includes Violett Beane, Joe Morton, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, and Erica Gimpel, with Adam Goldberg and Jessica Lu recurring.
The second season of God Friended Me is averaging a 0.67 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.24 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 25% in the demo by down by 20% in viewership. That’s quite a dip in the ratings for the CBS TV show
What do you think? Do you watch God Friended Me? Would you have watched season three?
“God Friend Me” is one of the best series on TV today. I make a point to watch it every week. If CBS isn’t going to renew it then I hope another network will. Hey Netflix here is an excellent series to take over.
I always look forward to the show and when something else is on in its time slot I always feel a lose! Sad news. A real loss!
My wife and I love this show ! We watch it every week! So sorry to see it cancelled.
One of the better shows on tv.I hope Hallmark channel or a channel with the same class picks it up.Very sad decisision
Isn’t it a shame that all other age groups are completely discounted? The plots were more clever than many others; writing great; acting superb. The story lines were riveting and made me eager to see the next episode. Characters were very lovable. This is a great loss.
I am deeply disappointed that you have cancelled this really great show. Once again a really nice wholesome family show , bites the dust. It was such a break in your usual reality shows, violence ridden, and stupid deranged comedy shows. This was a show that had a nice theme, with no cursing ,or bloody violence in it.
What about leaving shows on for mature adults. You don’t always have to appeal to the younger generations.
I will truly mis this show, and that’s why I usually watch PBS or History channels, as you cancel all the nice shows.
I really enjoyed God Friended me and want it to come back maybe as a summer replacement
One of my favorite shows, I will miss it.
Breaking Miles and Cara up was not a good move. But I’m a little sad to see the show go.
My family loves this show. It’s one of few current television programs my grandchildren are allowed to watch.
thank god, no pun intended…this was a terrible show, MUCH better shows with the same type of premise have come and gone, ( joan of arcadia comes to mind, and the FAR SUPERIOR kevin probably saves the world ) this show was nothing more than PC drivel , it was doomed from the pilot, if just 1/4 of church goes had interest and watched it would have been on for years, but it got wrapped up in the soap opera and political stories, and few wanted to watch…guess god UNFRIENDED this show…good riddance
Yes I would watch season 3 and 4!!! We need shows that,
remind us how important it is to know that G-D is above us below us and next to us. Keeping the faith with the higher
power is so important to our existence. There is so many Miracles that G-D does for us that the general public doesn’t get!!!!
OMG! What in the world is wrong with those idiot execs at CBS? With all the other awful shows on their network now why cancel the one good & uplifting show? Unbelievable that they’d ignore the people who want to keep it on… no surprise there. Tell me you’re not putting on yet another crummy singing show… I never watch those. Or some idiotic UNFUNNY so called comedy.
I love this show and the characters! Please don’t cancel it! There are so few (if any other) shows of this type. Can’t we please have one hopeful, wholesome and caring show like this? I agree with whoever asked if it was being replaced with another (inane) reality show! Please change your mind, CBS, and keep this pleasant show! I’m 59, btw. We watch television as well!
We love it.
