Good Witch was cancelled by Hallmark recently, and the stars of the series – Catherine Bell, Kat Barrell, and James Denton – have reacted to the news that there won’t be an eighth season. Bell appeared in the Good Witch series and films for 13 years, but that is all coming to an end soon. The series finale for the drama will air on July 25th at 9 PM, and it is titled “The Wedding.”
Per Deadline, the Hallmark Channel episode sees the Merriwick cousins getting ready to face the mysterious force putting their family legacy at risk while changes are in store for others.

Denton said the following in a statement:
“It would be unseemly to complain about your show being cancelled after seven seasons, and I won’t. I’ve been very fortunate to have been on other long-running series, but Good Witch was special. The fans were so devoted to the show and I’m disappointed for them, but I hope they know how much the actors appreciated their vocal support. The cast was the nicest collection of wildly talented people I’ve ever been around. The producers treated us extremely well, and I’m happy to still have two movies to make with the network so I’m not saying goodbye to the Hallmark audience yet.”
What do you think? Were you surprised that the Good Witch TV show was cancelled by Hallmark? Do you plan to watch the finale later this month? Would you have watched season eight?
I have loved watching the series and the movies. However, very disappointed with the new storyline of Joy. I would love to see the show stay on and end that storyline and keep it like it was, where I didn’t have to worry if my children and grandchildren were watching. Please consider keeping things the way they were and adding fun-loving stories in all shows.
I’m extremely upset when I read that The Good Witch was being canceled.
I started watching this show with my Daddy, he absolutely loved it, he got me hooked… So much so that I went back and started from the beginning.
There are already so few good shows on television now, why take off this good one?
I will continue to watch the the Good Witxh until it’s last show….and be very sad when it is over.
Very disappointed to hear of the Good Witch cancellation. It is a happy, positive show that puts a little magic in an increasing negative world. Please reconsider and allow us to enjoy your channel. I will have to seriously reconsider subscribing.
I will surely miss this show. They have made Sundays special in a otherwise void world if TV shows. God bless you all.
Why are these high quality series being cancelled. I was heartbroken when Cedar Cove was cancelled but I am shocked that with such a large fan base that Hallmark has cancelled The Good Witch. So sad.
I can’t belive you are canceling a Fav showing the order of Signed, Sealed and delivered. You should rescindthe cancelation. I don’t care for the character of Joy and her story line but would watch the show for many more years
This news is incredibly sad. I truly feel that they have at least one more good year in them and then they can end the series properly.
Hate to see it go
Excellent Show.
So much more to come.
Hallmark change your mind listen to viewers.
So disappointed the show is cancelled, there are still so many stories to tell and you are letting go of a good show…it was the highlight of my Sunday.
I am so sad to hear the cancelation of the Good Witch series. I look forward every year and wish there were .ore episodes in a season. Please reconsider and continue with the series. I love all the cast!
Reconsider cancellation of Good Witch. It was the one show that consistently made you feel good. The characters were always uplifting and positive even in a negative situation. The characters and story line are relatable with today’s occurrences. It just saddens my heart to think that one evening a week I won’t be able to sit back and fully enjoy watching one of my all time favorite shows.
I think it stinks why?
Please bring Good Witch back! I’m in tears as so many other huge fans
I am so sad to learn of my favorite Hallmark show being cancelled. I hope that they will, AT THE VERY LEAST, continue to make the occasional Good Witch movie, once or twice a year.
