Within the context of its smaller audience, Freeform has had some success with its younger-skewing sitcoms. Now it’s breaking out the big guns. As a spin-off of ABC‘s Black-ish, the Grown-ish TV show comes with something of a built-in audience. Can the cable network lure enough viewers away from broadcast television? Will Grown-ish be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
A coming-of-age comedy, Grown-ish stars Yara Shahidi, Deon Cole, Francia Raisa, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Jordan Buhat, Luka Sabbat, Trevor Jackson, Chris Parnell, and Emily Arlook, with Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross recurring. The Freeform TV show centers on Zoey Johnson (Shahidi), as she leaves the home of her parents, Dre and Rainbow (Anderson and Ross), and heads off to college. Now that she is finally out, and (mostly) on her own, Zoey will find that while college can be great, the fun and excitement are not without their costs. The more she learns, the more she realizes how little she knows.
Below are the show’s TV ratings, typically the best way to tell if the series will be cancelled or renewed. These figures will be updated as the weeks progress.

What do you think? Do you like the Grown-ish TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on Freeform?
1/18/18 update: Freeform has renewed Grown-ish for a second season. Details here.
OK I don’t want to seem like I’m being totally negative here. But the way the readings in demographics yeah lost half its beginning momentum. I can’t see how they can renew this so for second season which day did. I hope the reconsidering cancel the series not to be negative as I said, but is just no way the series can survive.
Lol the rate drops more.
Ratings are not good. Since show cancel for this wasn’t and better
Well look at these numbers.. Then again it’s expected to be since it’s nothing more than a specialized demographic viewers type of show. Aimed at them even though the series might not be good but the network doesn’t care. Because they want to get a specialize demographics people other than good ratings. Welcome to the New Age of TV shows where what people like it’s not important . But instead the network can live with a crappy show for years with terrible ratings in demographic ratings . it’s really sad that good shows are getting canceled for junk like this.… Read more »
Truth hurts it’s seems…
What are you talking about? These ratings are good for a cable show and the show got positive reviews.
All due respect, you think he will ratings are good? If you look at the ratings now in the demographics it’s not even reaching for what I even thought would be to be a minimal. And they went out and they renewed it for a second season not even a month after it’s preview good grief. What is this network thinking 00 yeah that’s right there’s some things that are more important than demographic and viewership
I think they’re decent when compared to other shows on the network. I mean, there are shows on other cable networks getting less than a 0.04 rating!
Lol really? Look at the recent numbers. It’s getting lower. Even for a secondary network they as bad.
Frankly speaking he seems think it’s about race of people. He is right it’s how networks makes dem or population. NOT to protest or scream discrimination about tv programming. If you don’t think it doesn’t happen you live in a cave. Ask minorities in television and movies and they tell you the same.
To be frank I understand you are referring to the “specialized demographic viewers” as minorities. Grown-ish isn’t aimed at minorities but it does show how minorities live in America. Grown-ish and Black-ish are both to show the privileged white people what it is like to live in America as a minority and they both show minorities that they are not alone. The majority, if not almost all, of the tv shows in America is about white people and only appeal to one portion of the country. If you want one of those shows you can literally just flip to any… Read more »
Um…..no because they did put genre on because of equal rights to these actors. Why else put type on? Look at the person creating this? Larry W. Now you tell me they made this again? He is a black righteous talk show host…or was. It’s more about Race based thenactual creative thinking
