What’s This TV Show About?
A Hulu period drama, inspired by the lives of real women, Harlots stars Samantha Morton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lesley Manville, Eloise Smyth, and Liv Tyler. Alfie Allen joins season three the new pimp in town, Isaac Pincher, with Ash Hunter playing his brother, Hal. The story unfolds in 18th century Georgian London and centers on the Wells family, led by brothel-owning matriarch Margaret (Samantha Morton). The third season kicks off with Margaret having been sent to America in chains, while rival Lydia Quigley (Manville) is in Bedlam. With the help of allies including Lady Fitz (Tyler) the Wells women hope to be free of their mother’s feud. Soon though, Charlotte (Brown-Findlay) realizes running the brothel cultivates enemies.
Harlots has been cancelled, so there will not be a fourth season. Could this series be revived someday?
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership statistics, it is difficult to predict whether Hulu will cancel or renew Harlots for season four. This is one of those series that gets some critical acclaim, but seems to otherwise fly under the radar. Without statistics, it is difficult to hazard a guess, but since this wasn’t promoted as a “final season,” I think a renewal is more likely than cancellation. It took four months from the season one premiere to a season two renewal. The third season was picked up just two months after the second debuted, so if good news is in the offing, it seems likely to come within a few months. Since that’s just speculation, I’ll keep an eye on the trades and update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free Harlots cancellation and renewal alerts.

We love the show and are hoping for season after season! There is plenty more of story lines that can be played out. What a wonderful show!!!!

I have enjoyed Harlots from the beginning it well thought out, well written & fabulously acted & the costume department has some serious talent. I am a reenactor portraying the 1500’s & look for & enjoy period shows regularly & this one is excellent. I & several people I turned on to this show enjoy it immensely & are looking forward to season 4.

Man, I effing LOVE this show!! Upset about Charlotte, though. I started watching the show for Margaret Wells ( saw a movie with her and Michael Shannon I think and she was phenomenal) but I stayed for Charlotte Wells. Emily Lacey is interesting in her way…she’s got more heart than she pretends, but I miss Charlotte as much as Nance. It would be interesting to see how Fanny and Cherry get on as bawds and of course, Lydia Quigley and Blayne could provide decades of entertainment……… I just realized I completely nerded out up there lmao. Well……This was a fun series ..for sure…But…it did get a bit complicated when some of the actors started to bail out…and had to die on screen due to their new casting somewhere else…..ha..ha…then….on the last one..#3–8 it was a mad marathon to the finish line….the writers must have all been on coffee and donuts…or scones in England…for days…to write this comedy of ..who’s left to act…!!! and speed zipping to the end and everyone’s now friends…….Wow….!??…..ha ha ha… Yes….if there is a number 4..???….I will watch…but there needs to be some outrageous new cast members to fill in the voids… Read more »
Watching harlots has always been the one of my favorite TV shows however unfortunately since Charlotte has been killed off the scenes she was one of the main reasons why I watch the show I loved watching Charlotte she was a very strong and a powerful woman I’m very sad to see her go and the show will never be the same without our beloved Charlotte I feel after I finished watching the rest of season 3 I don’t think I could put myself to watch any more seasons of harlots unfortunately don’t get me wrong it is a very… Read more »
Agree, they haven’t really found anyone of her caliber to step up but I like how they are exploring the lesser shown characters pulling together to survive and expanding some story lines for them. I would say season one very much reminded me of shows I enjoyed in the late 90s, very comfortable. Season 2 was not my favorite, found it very dull and slow but the third season has built up well and seems more on par with current notions of good entertainment, as in the younger generation seems a bit more calm than my generation and I really… Read more »

Kind of torn for a season four WHY did you kill off Charlotte?!?!?!? Can’t describe how upset I am about this. Curious to see how this will all play out though.
She went off and got another show is why. Her choice.
I’m only keeping Hulu for Harlots! If Hulu dropps the ball, I would hope another network would have the common sense to pick it up for many, many more seasons..
