TV show description:
Based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, the Instinct TV show is a crime thriller from creator Michael Rauch. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is enjoying a peaceful interlude as a university professor and author, when his old life beckons for him to return.
Reinhart is teaching psychopathic behavior when NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) seeks his help in catching a serial killer. It seems the murderer is using the professor’s first book as his training manual.
Although Dylan has grown accustomed to his student’s enthusiasm and adoration, Detective Needham isn’t one to take “No,” for an answer. He agrees to leave his comfortable retirement behind, in order to work this compelling case.
Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), is every bit as bright as the professor and excels at getting the goods on anyone he targets. Meanwhile, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal) is happy to see her sharpest detective accept help on any case. Lizzie has refused to partner with anyone, since a tragedy occurred, a year ago.
Although working the case gives Dylan a new sense of purpose and vitality, his husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past. While things are bumpy between Dylan and Lizzie at the outset, they soon learn that together, they make one heck of a team.

Episode #24 — Grey Matter
A gruesome discovery in a city pond leads Dylan and Lizzie to investigate a young man’s murder, while Andy rescues one of Dylan’s students from a legal bind.

Once again a show that is entertaining gets cancelled without even ending the show the proper way. It’s a shame that shows like someone who can’t find a wife/husband is not cancelled. Sorry not sure how that is entertaining. Didn’t think women were that desperate in this day and time that you would have to go on tv to find love.
I absolutely loved this series.. Why on earth would CBS cancel such a great show? Very disappointed in this decision and hope they would reconsider…

Just found out Instinct was cancelled! So very sorry to hear this. Amongst a plethora of realty TV & other mindless fare, I found this show to be intelligent yet personable in character development. Loved the cast & the characters they played. Hope CBS will reconsider or another network will recognize an opportunity.
Here’s another great show that should not have been cancelled! The story lines, the acting, the direction – all first-class! Please bring it back!

Please bring this great show back. Whatever possessed you all to cancel it? The favorite of myself and all of my friends (in our 70’s) We are still thinking when we watch TV specially such an interesting and entertaining show.
INSTINCT is a great show! Excellent ensemble cast w/ intelligent, emotional & thoughtful
scripts/dialogues. The screenplays are better than James Patterson’s books about the mysteries solved by Dylan Reinhart PhD – better character development & witty as well! How could they let a super-star like Alan Cumming go? Please give thinking audiences a Season Three of INSTINCT! Enough w/ the endless reality shows.

Whoever pulled the plug on this are not in your right mind. Do you realize there are still educated, deep thinkers that still watch TV for the content and not the thrill and chill factor.
Bring this back…..please…….
Every time they get a show on that engages your brain they cancel it because they don’t understand that some of us LIKE to think while watching a show.
We may not be in the majority, but why can’t they listen to us and leave it on.
