TV show description:
This gritty family drama revolves around the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and is set in a small family gym in Venice, California.
Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo) owns and operates Navy St. MMA — a down and dirty storefront gym/do jo. A beloved MMA legend, he is a man of big appetites who came up in a savage world, when MMA was closer to human cockfighting than a mainstream sport. He is a true warrior, carved on the Mt. Rushmore of MMA, but he doesn’t have a dime to show for it.
He is in love with Lisa Prince (Kiele Sanchez), his girlfriend and business partner. She’s an extraordinary woman who’s always honest with him. She runs the gym with military precision, always looking for ways to keep it afloat. Years ago, Lisa met an MMA star named Ryan Wheeler. They fell in love and she fell into the world of fighting. When Ryan crashed and burned and tore down Lisa’s life, Alvey was there to pick her up.
Charming and intelligent, Ryan (Matt Lauria) is a former three-time, All-American wrestler and a world-class athlete. Four years ago, Ryan was on top of the world — until he landed in prison. When he shows up at Alvey’s gym after his release, he is a changed, humbled man. Despite the risks, Alvey sees the return of a superstar fighter as an opportunity that can change the fortune of his struggling gym.
While trying to keep his business afloat, Alvey is also trying to repair his fragile relationships with his sons. Jay (Jonathan Tucker) is the prized fighter at the gym and a bit of a loose cannon who likes to party a too hard. Youngest son Nate (Nick Jonas) is an up and comer in the world of MMA. He’s always looked up to his older brother but is his polar opposite; reserved, disciplined, and dedicated.
Christina Kulina (Joanna Going) is Alvey’s estranged wife, and mother to his sons. She is an engaging and beautiful woman, undone by mental illness and drug abuse. Her eldest son Jay blames Alvey for turning his back on his Christina, while her youngest son Nate barely remembers her.
Episode #40 — Lie Down in the Light
Alvey’s comeback fight couldn’t come at a worse time as Navy St. comes to grips with recent events. Roles are reversed when Ryan coaches Alvey, and Lisa begins a new chapter.
First aired: August 2, 2017.
What do you think? Do you like the Kingdom TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I love love love love this show. Bring it back PLEASEEEEEE
One of the best shows. Can’t believe it was cancelled and am very disapointed that it was. All the actors were great at their parts. I think it just didn’t get enough publicity to attract viewers. I know very few people who have even heard of the AUD channel.
Loved this show… I loved all the characters. I would have LOVED to see another season but I feel they ended it on a good note! Now I am SO sad because I am going to miss this great show!
One of my favorite series. So sorry its gone
Each character very tortured very dark show. No one just innocent and perfect sort of like real life. The many drugs coke so often with so many characters didnt appeal to me as i feel it may influence kids to think doing hard drugs can be a now and then thing .Was better wben showing the withdrawls and pain of it as a warning if rest is added.
Nick Jonas did a fantastic job considering his first calling is music ..Will miss this show
I can’t believe the show is canceled. It’s one of the best shows on TV I would love to see another station pick it up and continue the story
This show is absolutely amazing. Please do another season. This show needs to be renewed now.
No it was the best show. I loved it.Very sad. I hope someone will pick it up
I’m so upset at the cancellation of my favorite TV show! The story and acting are top notch. I think that At & T should have advertised this show. I never even knew about it until my friend told me about it. Audience network?! I did not even know this channel existed. It’s a shame to see such a great show be canceled.
This show is amazing! The complex and intriguing characters and storyline are riveting while being relatable to many in the character’s triumphs in love and overcoming adversity, in addition to everyday struggles of loss, one’s addictions, demons and imperfections in a world that demands perfection and sacrifice. Not only is the writing of the show brilliant and impeccable, the sheer physicality required and achieved by the actors to portray their characters is as equally impressive. The high quality of the writing and actors of the show bring to life the physical brutality and beauty of MMA life, and its razor’s… Read more »

My favorite!!!!
So upset
Cancelling of this GREAT SHOW is just another example of the decline of our great country under the current presidential administration.
Cancellation of Kingdom had nothing to do with
Presidential administration.
