Though this is a spin-off of Law & Order, this show spends more time on the characters’ lives than others in the Dick Wolf franchise. The relationship between Detectives Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) has become particularly emotional at times. SVU also typically contains the most controversial subject matter and frequently focuses on cases involving subjects like rape, child abuse, physician-assisted suicide, abortion, or gun control.
Other characters include Detective Sergeant John Munch (Richard Belzer), Detective Fin Tutuola (Ice T), Detective Chester Lake (Adam Beach), Captain Don Cragen (Dann Florek), Senior Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak (Diane Neal), Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March), Dr. George Huang (B.D. Wong), and Dr. Melinda Warner (Tamara Tunie).
I watch every show and Benson is my hero she brings so much courage and strength to the show and she’s helped me in my personal life and the story writers are awesome Great Job!!!!
i have watched svu from the 1st episode and always followed it for years from the
UK but now it seems more like it’s all about olivia benson.. stabler was let go on re-negotiation of his contract but to see mariska is getting half a million dollars per epsisode come on..seriously..

SVU is the most amazing T. V. show that I have ever seen. The writters are amazing. The diversity of cases are never boring and the convination of the criminal laws with the detective investigations make interesting every chapter from the beginning to the end. I would like to know how may seasons in total this T. V. show has. I bought first 1-17 seasons from ebay, the 18 I bought it from amazon and the 19 is coming from a DVD website from Australia. Do you know where can I buy season 20?
Not a hater of the show…but i do think the show has ran its course…and refusal for new actors and fresh content…Emotions for prosecutions are too high…no balance.
The only way to get new actors is to get rid of Mariska Hargitay, who makes $500,000 or more an episode. Is that what you want? They don’t even put all 5 of the main people in every single episode, while Criminal Minds puts almost all of theirs in every single episode. Feel free to complain to NBC all you want. All they want to do is cut costs on this show. That’s why they got rid of Danny Pino and everyone else.
Yes, get rid of Mariska Haritay. I really liked her when she was younger and with Eliot, but now she’s just smarmy and I’m sick of her seeing “rape” every where she looks. I like the blond and I just love Icetea, but when they got rid of Eliot they should have got rid of Olivia.
I am almost addicted to this show. I record them all the time and watch. I like the older ones the best. With Stabler, oh how I miss him, an I miss Munch too a well as Cragen.
I love the old crew together; Benson, Stabler, Cragen, Fin, Munch.
I am not so fond of the newer people. I hope they can call them back together.

Love Mariska! One small favor though. Have her stop dropping her voice to a mere whisper, for effect, in every single show. It’s lost it’s zap now.
Maybe that’s what I don’t like about Olivia now, that whispering affect drives me nuts. I love the show and have watched it for years, but Mariska Hargitay needs to either leave or get a new persona.
Will S. V. U. have any additional seasons after current season?
This is The best Show. I have watched it since the day it started. I am a huge Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay fan and have been since the very begining of their careers.
The new Season Premiere of this show was a nail biter especially the first hour. It had me on the edge of my seat.
Please do not cancel. We have watched the show from the beginning and Love It.
